I'm slowly venturing into this class at my Local Carpet track and possible transition into outdoor.
I've read thru some of this thread on cars and bodies etc.
I understand that the NSX body has pretty high marks for handling and overall a strong choice for a body.
Is there a comparison chart someplace for the different types of bodies?
In my collection of possible shells, I have an HPI Supra, HPI Scion FRS, a KYOSHO NSX, and some other misc. bodies.
I know my club is somewhat relaxed and I don't expect to be on the podium as my area has some very fast drivers, but I was curious if there was ever a comparison done of various bodies and their characteristics back to back?

long rear overhang: more stable (saleen s7)
less rear overhang: quicker turning (mclaren, lotus)
Big splitter - more steering
big windshield can help downforce as well
Lower roof bodies are usually better
In any case, there are a lot of bodies that work. Some are better for some situations - like an HPI McLaren on a tight high bite track. Some are more universal, like an NSX or an old Protoform Corvette.

Rims are your choice of any non-dish wheel, 24mm wide. Some guys are using 26mm wheels, but they give the tread a different profile, since the tires are designed for 24mm.
I like the premounts on the GT wheels from Gravity RC: http://www.teamgravityrc.com/store1/...=0&sort=normal

That's an easy question to answer; there is only one allowed tire per the rules: "Tires- RIE24025 - set of 4 available through Gravity RC http://www.teamgravityrc.com/" They last quite a while on asphalt, and the grip stays pretty consistent until they wear out.

24 or 26mm, I too prefer the 24mm wheel, the spec tire seems to work OK on either, but I like the handling (feel) better on the 24mm wheels.

In addition to DARKSIDE's setup, which should be a very good starting point, there should be other setup sheets for the TC6.1 at the Team Associated site and PetitRC (just google PETITRC.COM SETUP and you go right to the setup sheets).
