Default Buri Cars in USA

Looking for some info. How many cars are in the USA? Where are they located? What was your experience getting it shipped to the USA and costs?

I want one but am still on the fence. Not much 1/8 scale going in this country, especially compared to other classes and likely it would become another shelf queen. We do run a class of 2wd pan cars and I was hopeful to get the nitro version...may try to convert...

Thanks,
Ned

I bought the first one to come to the US. Thomas sold me one while i was in europe. I got a first gen 1.5, with the plastic bulkheads and 10mm vs. 10mm axle. I like it a lot, yet I have it more for the convenience of my son to learn 1/8 4wd, before we move on to IC full suspension. It handles great, and like stated earlier we are running a 3S, SC 550 setup. I still have and run Motonicas. The Buri is just so easy, charge batteries, put it on the track and that's that. I have changed a few things and will post the later.

I haven't measured the different pulleys but it seems that there is a little bit of overdrive...

Hi,
yes there is an overdrive ratio of 0.5% when starting with tire diameter 69/76mm.
The rear pulley has 31t and the front one 28t, so its easy to calculate.

Best regards, Tom

So my kit is ready, I've mounted a HW v3.1 120A and a simple 10.5T 540 motor.

The transmission is incredibly loudly... Tom, did you ever try to use a smaller module during the conception of the car?

I'm designing a adapter to mount a standard 48DP spur gear...

I'm sure you are running the correct gear mesh, but yes it's loud, and how did you adapt a 540 motor, as a 5mm shafts on the 550 is plenty stout to avoid any misalignment etc. from side loading under power. Are you running a 5mm pinion adapter, such as the ones from Robinson or Novak, those can lead to the pinion not being concentric if your running a 540 motor.

Post some pics.

Unless you plan on making the 48p gear 8+mm wide and a wide pinion, the gear will strip and more or less pick up a lot of debris. That's why 32p is so great, it holds a great tooth load and is almost self cleaning due to the root widths.

Plus once your tires bite, the greatest shock will be at the spur gear, or when you hit an obstacle with throttle still applied, so I'd suggest sticking with the 32p.

I have found that you can eliminate some of its play with 1/8 off road different shims and that will help keep it in line with the pinion and avoid deformation and possible damage.

If it's still too loud for you rather adapt to 08 mod such as those used in 1/8IC 4wd cars that may be a better route than 48p.

Interesting, but I was quite sure that the original spur was in module 1. So you tell me that 32DP? It seems huge...

Yes I'm running a 1/8 to 5mm adapter (the Hobao one, made in steel). It seems to run perfectly, surely not as fast as the 1/8th motors, but I think it will be enough for our small track. If not, I will try a 5500 motor and a SC ESC...

Default Buri-Racer E1 in South Carolina, USA

Received my kit this afternoon about a week and a half after placing the order! Kit is very well done and packaged for easy assembly. I will be finishing up the electronic installation in the next day or so. Can't wait to do a little test run!
