I'd like to make the car generally less nervous, especially on corner exit. Is a more rounded front tyre profile going to help me? Plan to test it next time at the track but would like to know the general consensus.

I run blinky 21.5t on 2s with 45/69 gearing, basically pretty tall. Not sure you could gear the car high enough on 1s, assuming that's what you're running?

Here you go, picture of how the car is now.
In an update I'm prolly gonna put the sero mount onto the front topdeck and make holes to be able to mount an asso/xenon style as well as a yokomo style front end. But no rush with that

Is that a dual a-arm front end you have there? Looks very nice. I thought that raising the front of the shock would actually reduce steering due to less aggressive weight transfer to the front, which would also explain better traction in the rear.

Yes, running 1s (edited my post above). Just looking for a ballpark number to try and then de-tune the speed as needed from there for my kids.

I would get a 70 tooth spur (Xenon makes a nice one) and use between a 53-60 tooth pinion depending on what fits. We typically run right around 100 mmpr on 17.5 1s so the numbers I gave should take you a little north of there depending on your tire size. If undergeared properly you may not need to detune the car any further. Even gearing to 105 or so and running the motor at neutral timing might do the trick.

Yep, its the std yokomo frontend but I stopped using the antiroll bar since it introduces too much tweak.
Because the weight transfer to the front is less active going off throttle, I could even build in more steering.
Could even tap the brakes slighly in the same corner :-)

Thanks for the reply, I will try those things. It will be interesting seeing how the kids do with the cars. They've done some novice offroad with T4's, but they are far from stellar drivers. They have fun though. I tell my son he'd have a little more fun if he'd slow down and he told me, "Dad, I'm never gonna slow down!" lol Then I introduced him to laptimes, and that got him more interested in not crashing.

Have you seen the new Xenon frontend with the inboard dampers? I think they have it on the Destiny car. Wondering how that thing works.
That Destiny car looks very innovative-might have to give it a try when its available!

Yeah. I like the looks of that. Interested to see how the "dampers" on the rear end work.

Default 12L4

Found my old 1/12 scale in a box today. After searching online figured out is a 12L4. (Probably ) anyways is this thing still competitive? Not looking to win a roar national..but play at the track. I normally run off road, but ran touring yrs ago. I know very little about the car. Any pointers would be great. Thanks!

I don't know what you'd do if you needed parts, but here's the battery to get:

Speedzone 1S Pro 5200 mAh 3.7v 50C Saddle Lipo

I'm putting together a T-bar car right now too. SpeedZone sells their batteries on ebay also (cheaper than link above), I have one on the way. Also found a used one by posting in the WTB section here. Should be as competitive as you can drive, and also depends on how fast the guys are you race with. I'd think Tower Hobbies would still have parts, but I haven't looked.
