1/12 forum
We have a group of four running 17.5T on an abrasive, low-traction asphalt parking lot, 110x80'. I think we'll have a fifth driver joining us soon.
EDIT: Track temperature at the last race was 135F.

In the near 30 years I've lived here only 3 purpose built on-road tracks have ever opened out here (Other than some private drifting clubs). 1 indoor carpet lasted less than a year...1 indoor concrete which lasted less than a year...and Race World Hawaii which was fortunately open for several years. Its just too expensive out here to run a track indoor or outdoor.

Here' our clubs facility at Freedom Park Camarillo, CA
We have a 1/12 scale class that has 6-8 regular racers twice a month. It's just getting started up again after the class disappearing for a few years. Medium to high traction on a washed and sprayed sealed surface. Lots of fun!

I would just love a track with ANY surface that foam tyres would work on

160 miles? That's awful.
My LHS died and now if you live in Arizona and want to go carpet racing, weekend trip to Cali is your best option.
You know what's really funny though? My LHS died almost 2 years ago and not a thing has happened to the building since. It's just sitting there, weeds are now 3 feet tall but otherwise unchanged. They didn't even turn the sign off.
