Plus the car is more agile in the air. Derek ran the same thing at Nats and The King of Kings race 2 weeks before. There was a top speed difference down the back straight and through the sweeper at Nats. This is a tuning option and comes in handy on high traction tracks.

... On a serious note as others stated, to reduce downforce for high traction tracks. Helps add more steering in high speed sections as Lutz thought the rear was over stuck to the surface and struggled to get it to corner as he liked. I personally run mine at max downforce because I run a much smaller track and I prefer to jump with the nose low.

I wanted to ask at what point do you replace chassis? Should Chassis be replaced after 3 gallons. To me, I inspect chassis at rebuilds about every month and check for cracks, bend, droop screw area and F/R wear into the A-D Blocks. I think the chassis should be the longest lasting part on any kit. I know if you run on an abrasive track than chassis would need replacing. Your thoughts drivers!

Unfortunately that isn't really how it works in the 1/8th market as it is now. RC has some of the weirdest norms of any cars in the world in that they are actually designed with the acceptance that the chassis is going to contact the ground for a good amount of the time its driven (more than you think...jump faces, landings, bumps, even around fast corners). If you setup your car to never touch the ground then it will handle poorly, its just kind of how it is.
Thankfully companies are beginning to wise up and are making chassis with integrated steel skid plates that can be replaced, which makes the chassis last far far longer than a one piece unit. By far the best I've seen of this is the M2c chassis line. No other company has thought to put in a front skid where the chassis bends as well, which is absolutely genius.
