How much camber are you trying to add? Are you looking at crazy Drift levels or race levels as we only go to about 3 degrees max for racing.
+1

In my honest opinion. The TT02 Type S is the best kit I would buy. It has the adjustability, shock towers, and bearings included. Has the potential to become a very competitive chassis. Lots of third party support on hop-up parts if you want to drift: http://www.broadtech.hk/eagleshop/sh...TT02-14-AL-LBL

As a bonus, it can perfectly fit those lovely Tamiya bodies sought by Tamiya fans like me.

im looking into crazy drift camber aha espcially as the wheels offset is rubbing on the body, basically i need enough for it to steer without hitting the body and so it looks clean?

Ok, I thought that might be the case, I will have a look to see how far I can take the camber.

Now that the type-D has some body shells associated with it, I would just get that (unless there is another TT-02 body that is desired in a base kit) or definitely get the Type-S for racing.

I have a tt02 set up for drifting. Not much info on drifting on RCTech but what is the advantage of 'crazy drift camber.' Does it reduce grip so it drifts more?

Default TT02 Gear Adapter fit TT01?

I've asked a few of the regulars thru PM but thought I'd just put it up on the main thread too.

Planning to run my old TT01 in a blinky 21.5 class. Need to get FDR down to about 3.6. I know the stock setup is limited to 5.72 (55t spur gear and 25 pinion). But I got an adjustable motor mount made so I'm not limited anymore. But would like to run 64 pitch spur gears. Something like a 64 pitch 73 teeth spur gear and a 64 pitch 53 teeth pinion (currently not sure if this would even work).

My question is:? Which is a better fit for the TT01 in terms of a spur gear adapter:

3Racing TB03 spur gear adapter

http://www.rcmart.com/3racing-tb0314...3-p-27689.html

OR

Tamiya TB03 aluminum spur gear mount

http://www.rcmart.com/tamiya-54094-t...t-p-28272.html

OR

Tamiya TT02 High Speed Spur Gear Set?

https://www.tamiyausa.com/product/it...oduct-id=54500

Anyone have a good gearing combo (and what brand spur gear) that also might avoid grinding down the cover over the pinion when the motor is mounted?

Any other advice is much appreciated. Thanks,

Ivan

additional to the camber question, is there any mods that can give a much bigger steering lock to the tt02d

I have the High Speed Spur Gear set in both my TT02s. I tried it in a TT01 and it did not quite fit. I think it will fit if you grind a way some plastic as I recall. I'm going to try and set up my TT01 for VTA and need to re-address this issue myself.

just bought a type R instead of the type S i wanted because the shop that I went didn't stock it and got hooked by the phrase "limited edition" (referring to the part number and some parts inside)

getting a alu shaft is cheap for the type S but a better quality suspension kit would cost a lot more to replace for the type R.

bleah......wish i read more carefully for pages 40-41

You will still have fun with it and the rear hubs on the R will help the car feel more stable.

The parts for the S are seperately available and in some way they are better as it allows you to add droop screws etc.

I am working on a new TT02 article at the moment.

I mean it's probably cheaper to buy the type S then get the 2.5degree toe in parts and alu prop shaft than to type R + decent suspensions

the suspension kits here cost easily US$60

Correct me if I am wrong, the type S comes with a motor? and does the type S comes alu uprights with 3degree toe in?

tamiya com/english/products/58600/index.htm
The rear is set up with 3°of toe-in.

I'll need help for 1 thing though. I am completely new to this RC thing. so I really have no idea what to get for esc and motor combination.
so far I have a wild willy2 and it came with ESC + motor and all I needed was a RC set for it.

The type S comes with rear toe in as it uses suspensions blocks that has 3 degree toe in on the rear. No alu uprights. The front trf suspension on the S also has positive caster on the c-hubs. They also have more shock position options and come with longer arms. You wont be able to fit the rear hub carrier of the R on the S though as they each use different suspension parts. I have the S. It comes with a motor. To run your R's included motor, just get the cheap tamiya 105bk or a hobbywing quickrun brushed esc.
