Can a RX8 Gen2 case be used/fit to an RX8 gen1 that came with the newer 3 hole case?

I'd be very surprised if the ESC couldn't handle that, guys were running sc10 4x4s with 2 pole and 4 pole 550s without the fan from pics I have seen.

Yes it will fit, you just will need to open up the fan port hole on the Gen 2 case to allow the Gen 1 Fan port to pop thru.

Hey guys - I have been trying to calibrate my ESC with a couple sifferent radios, and I've been having some issues.

With a futaba it will calibrate neutral and forward throttle, but the brake won't calibrate.

With a spektrum radio I have the same issue as above. I'm both cases I have made sure the trim is set, I've adjusted the neutral width, etc.

The only radio that I have successfully calibrated is the traxxas RTR radio/rx

Any help? Thanks!

Check your throws. Example spectrum should have at a min travel 100-100 and check your front screen and make sure you have full brake, 100% should show on the brake line. If not intentionally turned down sometimes it gets nudged as the switches at your thumb on the handle will turn your brake up and down.

Hi guys, quick question on calibration, if you have a radio (Futaba) do you leave the travel @ 100% or max it, mine can go up to 140%.

Hey guys I hope all is well!! How do I make it so when I plug my battery into the ESC it turns the car on. In other words I dont want to have to switch the power on after I connect the battery. Do I just twist the pos and neg together on the switch? Will that short the ESC?

Easiest way is to leave the switch on. If it's broken you can solder the two wires together and it's always on. That will not hurt anything if you solder them together.

Should timing be used w/a 4-pole 1090KV motor? Should RPM start/end be adjusted for each specific motor?

Cool thanks for the help. Actually my problem is that if I land hard enough sometimes the damn switch turns off turning the car off!! Its the worst. I guess I need to fasten the switch down more securely hoping it doesn't shut off.

Dab of shoe goo on the switch and stick it right to the Rx8 case. Also make sure to face it the Right direction, ON = Facing forwards.

The guys are all correct though, clear your data logger memory and then go run the car. You'll see the battery voltage drop below LVC if it's a bad pack.
FOLLOW UP: I had a bad battery. I borrowed a friends pack and gave the car a full 15 minute workout. I'm so stoked now. Ready to get our outdoor track back into shape and get racing underway. Although I have been loving the indoor racing this past winter, I'm ready for some 1/8 action.

Huge thanx to everyone for their knowledge and suggestions.
