Back years ago, some of the guys did run 40% or 50% nitro, but over the past few years, they have been reducing the nitro, taking out shims and getting a little better run time with lower percentage fuel. In other places in the world, some events provide fuel or have a fixed percentage, some as low as 16%.

As long as everyone is running a 7 mm venturi on the same nitro % everyone is going to be in the same boat...running their engines well below its full potential.........
Rule requirements for 7mm restrictor on a 5-port engine work well to promote a stable class that should continue to draw lots of competitors.

Nice to see most races here in the USA adopting this rule and more engine options with Tesla and Max providing more options.

I think its really stupid to detune the engines soo much....as a 7 mm loses a pile of power and RPM over a 9 mm..........the faster you can go the more fun things get, intentionally detuning the engines is a step in the wrong direction for racing ...especially for big heavy GT cars that really can use as much power as you can give them.....5 port rule is a good one but the 7 mm is stupid

what do you guys think these rules really accomplished other then slowing the cars down ? many of these specific GT engine options are as much money as their onroad counterparts anyways....So your not really saving guys any money, most are ending up spending just as much as if there was no 5 port rule present anyways...... Then the 7 mm insert hurts performance severely... So you have guys paying big bucks for overpriced 5 ports then choking them back with a tiny carb insert....doesn't seem like a very effective rule to me ! this is no different then the pipe rules some of the offroad sanctions try to enforce.... they have a 3 chamber rule in effect for noise regulation but then never do they actually test how loud each pipe is...ends up we have 3 chamber pipes that every bit as loud as the 2 chamber pipes except they slow the cars down.... really serves no practical purpose...the cars aren't any quieter they are just slower.... A bunch of guys making ineffective rules that don't accomplish anything but making the nityro engines operate less efficiently ! they are no quieter and they are no less expensive ! not really well thought out IMO !
