My only real gripes are;

It doesn't log amps. Not a biggie, but it would be neato.

And class specific, turbo is tied to boost as a percentage. I like running Euro style (and the AE guys are doing this in the dirt as well) with no boost and only turbo for the straight in my mod 4wd and mod 12th.

The Flow kinda has the same problem but you can run a low boost (3 deg.) and then crank up the turbo to any available value for the straight.

Wow, integrated ESC and receiver with telemetry to my radio? What is this, the future?

Don't worry, ROAR will squish the fun/inventiveness our of it like they did the original... Or is it bad form to bash ROAR this week? I never get the memos...

Maybe the SSL on/off slider switch will help appease them?

Some of those things aren't exactly clear in the manual.

No worries at all. It's insanely rock solid. Has anybody noticed the new combo version with the receiver built in? Mega-hawt!

So no drag brake adjustment when the radio is on?

Drag brake is fully adjustable when SSL is enabled. There are 4 settings that can't be accessed via the radio that require manual setup; voltage cutoff, temp shutdown, reverse mode, and blinky mode. Basically once set you will never touch them unless you swap between blinky/boost mode.

Then there is an SSL blinky mode. Which means that the other 8 adjustments (8 when boost is enabled, 5 when it's not enabled) can't be accessed from the radio and it must be setup via the button on the switch like a boring old speedo.

But with SSL enabled you can adjust drag brake, brake feel, throttle feel, yadda yadda from the radio. You can even assign the various levers, trim switches etc to the AUX functions. And even more insano since race mode has to be enabled you could have multiple set-ups that can be quickly thumbed through via the Rmode button.

So, thats a long way of saying it can be a simple speedo with double blinky which means no boost and no adjustment from the radio to a full ballz out crazy adjusting multiple parameters with a press of a button tech geek out.

It's nutty that the way the current ROAR approval is written that everyone that bought the bargain SV0/472 combo can't use the receiver even though there are provisions for a "blinky" adjustment mode.

Hi guys,

Anyone here using Super Vortex in TC on-road boosted classes, specifically 17.5 (Hobbywing V10 motor) and 13.5 (Orca TX motor)?

Can you please share your boost/turbo settings.

I am using the Vortex in the two classes mentioned above and battling to get the settings right.
Either the car is to slow and I get blown away or when I crank up the settings the temps become a big problem.

PS: I have SSL mode enabled and make the adjustments on the AUX 1 and AUX 2 on my MT4S radio.
Using the setup screens posted previously - see below

A few things that still puzzle me....(I come from using Tekins ESC's which use degrees/points to set boost and turbo timing)

Boots/Turbo
1.) Does the percentage shown on the setup screen for boost and turbo represent a percentage on the max dynamic timing a brushless motor can run which is supposedly 64 degrees/points?
e.g. If you set boost to 50% and turbo to 50%, does that mean you are running 32 degrees/points of boost and 32 degrees/points of turbo?

2.) Or does it use settings similar to a Tekin where you can set Boost to a max of 50 degrees (Where 100% boost on the Vortex would equate to 50 degrees) and Turbo to a max of 20 degrees.

3.)What exactly does the "Power" setting do? Is that similar to the "Start RPM" at which the boost timing starts?

4.) In my experience some ESC's seem to work better with higher boost setting and lower turbo settings (e.g on my Tekin in 17.5 I used 36 Boost and 10-12 Turbo) while other ESC's like the Muchmore Fleta Pro uses low boost with high turbo.
What does the Sanwa ESC prefer?

Are the any other ESC's out there that also only work on percentages for Turbo/Boost?

Brakes
1.) I find the brakes are pretty weak, currently my "Brake Feel" setting is set to 0% and "Brake" is set to 100%. When initially applying the brakes, they seem very weak and get stronger about .5 secs later as if there is a delay but even then the brakes seems to be pretty weak.
