Which pinion should I use on a medium-small track with pretty big jumps? Using the tekin 2000kv truggy motor on 4s.
Thanks
Mike

Stock body is awesome.
Hi,

Last year, I saw a mod on a friend's car. We raced with Asso Tekno V4 kits. Without any rear brace, we had many problems with the rear body holes.
He made a new rear mount, with two flexible body posts.
I did the same thing and I think it will be a great mod to do on Tekno cars, because they all have the center diff in rear position.
Pictures of the mod on my old Tekno V4 kit :

After this mod, the body remain in good condition for a long time, because the body posts are not on the rear drive train (rear shock tower).

Bye !

Tkr1333. A small drop of grease or wd40 and smooth like butter. I do that with rod/shock ends also.
Shimming can be a pain if it's new to you. After you get it to work, it will be like second nature to you.

i really like that body post modification, I think that would go a long way in keeping the et48 body in one piece longer

You would be surprised by making the holes an oval shape, front to back, how much that would save the body.
But yes, that mod is nice.

Might be worth at looking at the Mugen body post in the rear. The are seated in flexible rubber bushings.

That's one of the good things about 1/8th, typically a wheel is a wheel is a wheel. There aren't all the different sizes, and offsets, and and and that exist in most of the 10th areas. Granted there are a few unique items out there, but any manufacture of standard 17mm truggy wheels will be fine. Personally I wish Avid would come out with some as I've had great luck with their 1/8th buggy wheels.

Agreed. While they feel VERY stiff and firm, some would be surprised how much 1/8ths flex under heavy stress. Ovaling out the holes gives you much more chassis flexibility without stretching the body.

if you have pinions now, I would use the gear to top out at the end of the longest straight method. which is how it sounds, gear your vehicle to top out towards the end of the longest straight, then adjust as needed from there based on temps and performance you see.

I usually do that when I don't have somewhere to really start.

That, or gear initially for 35 - 40 mph in general works well as a starting point.

Sorry thought I answered you. I would try 19. But keep in mind this still depends on outside Temps, your driving style, and equipment. I would try the 19 as I suggested, run the truggy for 3 min then bring it in for a temp.
