Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't this a rule change?
For USVTA
"Only physical motor timing advance is allowed, however Ballistic/Boss motors may be advanced beyond the last line of the timing range sticker."

Illegal... Thunder Power didn't sell the Z3R equipped with the green rotor, therefore, any rotor different than the one included in the package would be considered a tuning rotor. The only legal rotor, by this definition, is the 12.2 red rotor for a Z3R.

As a racer, I think it is important for the race director to not just call the races, but actually watch the racing and get to know the racers at their track. If the race director wants to split up mains to create a better racing experience for everyone at the track, I think that can be a good thing. Nothing is worse than having a great day of qualifying/racing at the track ruined because the main turned into a bash fest.
If there isn't a good way to split up mains and the best option is to run all cars in one main, the race director has some other options at their disposal that I rarely see used.
- If the start of the race (not just the first 5 seconds) is a bash fest, restart the main. Let the drivers know that you want to see good racing for the first few laps before it becomes an official race to the end. We all should have more than enough battery in our VTA cars that this shouldn't be a problem.
- If there is a car that is driving badly during the main (taking the leaders out or driving through the back-markers), the track director can impose a time penalty on that driver or even tell that driver to pull his car off the track. No reason to let one bad apple ruin the bunch.
- If there is a new/old/less-experienced driver who is laps off the pace, pull them aside before the main and make sure they understand good driver etiquette. Maybe take the opportunity to drive their car around the track to make sure it is mechanical sound.

We all want good door-to-door racing in VTA. But lets not mistake that for a bash fest.

We all love to race fender to fender but when bent fenders are caused by the same offender...there is a problem.
