Yea something is not calibrating correctly. Go back through your Tx, make sure End points are at 100, Expos are at 100. Double check to make sure all driver aids like ABS or things like that are turned off then try it again. Make sure you have your Tx set correctly for the ESC( reverse or normal) I have done that before when I got my new Tx, it will act like it's calibrating then You just get a blinking orange light, indicating that it did not calibrate.

I suggest resetting your radio profile. I always reset the profile on my Spektrum and start the calibration process to avoid conflicting settings. Here is the calibration procedure from Hobbyking's website if you don't already have it.
Calibrating
I’m not sure if the instructions in other comments and in the files section are inaccurate, or simply written for a different firmware revision than mine.
On my ESC the LEDs would start out being SOLID (not flashing) they will flash while programming the different positions. Yellow for neutral, Orange for full, Red for reverse. Step by step instructions go like this:
● Hold the set button and switch on the esc
● Solid Yellow LED indicates ready to calibrate NEUTRAL
● Leave throttle neutral, press SET, yellow LED flashes while reading NEUTRAL
● Solid Orange LED indicates ready to calibrate Full Throttle
● With throttle to full, press SET and the Orange LED will flash while calibrating
● Solid Red LED indicates the ESC is ready to calibrate reverse
● With throttle in full reverse, press SET and the Red LED will flash while calibrating
● When the esc is done calibrating full reverse it will flash all three LEDs in sequence to indicate programming is done.
With one of my radios I had a problem reading full reverse.
I had to set the throttle to like 90% reverse. Otherwise it would remain solid red even when
pressing set.

Just noticed the 80A trackstar is on the ROAR approved non timing list. Which ESC is it? Is it this one? http://hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store..._10th_ESC.html

I just got a trackstar turbo 80A esc. It worked well for about 3 packs of practice.
The next day I put my buggy on the bench to look it over and clean. While I was doing this I decided to plug the programming box in and just check it out. As I was about to unplug the esc from the rx, the car took off full throttle.
As some have mentioned sometimes if you turn the wheels slightly the motor goes full throttle for no reason. Well I think I have a fix. I noticed that when I rocked the car back and forth I could hear the esc or motor start to whine a bit, like when you barely apply throttle. So I put in 5 clicks of brake trim on the radio and kept rocking the car, dabbing throttle, turning the car on and off, etc... It would not go into a full throttle glitch anymore. I then backed off the trim one click at a time and kept trying to replicate the problem, it did not occur again until I got to 0 trim. I then put in one click of reverse subtrim and I got the same results no glitch, no full throttle burst.
Then I tried increasing the neutral deadband in the programming box from 3% to 5% and that also seemed to solve the problem.
I have a cheap Airtronics Mx-v. I think the issue is the latency on the radio and the resolution of the speed control. So I suspect that with a better radio this may not occur. I could be wrong.
Anyway it's all bench testing until I get back to the track in a few days.

Yes, it was in blinky. I don't think I've run it enough to say anything about the quality or reliability. However it was very smooth in my B5M with a 17.5 motor. Good power delivery, brakes seemed good. If the full throttle glitch is resolved I will be pretty happy with it for the price.
I have not tried adding any boost or turbo.

I just recently installed a Trackstar Turbo 120A. I was wondering if the cooling fan is supposed to be on all the time? Mine seems to turn on as soon as I turn on the power switch. I guess I assumed it would kick on at a certain temperature. Thanks for any info.

Yes, its direct power. On or off. That would be pretty sweet though if it had a thermostat built to kick on when it got around 90*. Even have a "turbo timer" set up that would run the fan for a few minutes after it was shut off.

Thanks for the quick response! I'm new to all this brushless stuff so I wasn't sure what was normal for these. I thought a thermostat would be nice as well! I guess I could just keep track of temps for a while and see if it's even needed with my setup, maybe I can unplug it. I assume it doesn't rob much battery power seeing it's so tiny.

Anyone having any trouble getting the program box to hook up to the one cell speedo??? I'm on my second one and the program box fails to hook up to the speedo. It hooks right to my two cells just fine but the one cells always come up as failed.

I had a problem with my 1s Gen II. It cogged horribly and wouldn't connect to the pc. I had a new sent under warranty and everything works good now. Have you tried using it on a different pc/laptop? Mine works under Win7 better than Win8.
