I bought the Spektrum A5040. They are like $28 on ebay.

Yes but that list is mention after the part about non programmable esc. It doesn't say all esc must be from the appoved list. To me it reads just like it is laid out. If the esc is not programmable then consult the list. If it can be put in blinky mode then the list is not needed.

Nice $21 cheaper then the Savox and metal gear. Does it feel good and center properly in your opinion?

Just found the 1357s metal gear counterpart, the SH-1257MG mini servo. More money but ooh it's tempting, and it retains the high speed.

Half of those ESC's are beyond the cost limitations of 65 pounds/$106.00 to.

I think we need to consider intent...what are we trying to get the rule to achieve.

Very good point.

An ESC that can be proven to be in zero-timing (blinky) mode that costs under the ~$106.00. Would you guys agree that is our intent?

I'm not trying to be a pain here, or upset anyone. Thought I would add that just incase. The only reason I brought up the ESC question is to make sure any potential issues in the interpretation of the rules was ironed out before I buy gear.

I'm glad the GT12 rules will be posted at the track soon. Clearly posted and universally understood rules are important to the growth and prosperity of any class, IMO.

I honestly think every class should have the rules clearly posted at the track. This way no one can say I didn't know or he said she said, because there it is for anyone to read. Simple and would help to avoid many conflicts.

I'm gonna run a Black Diamond ESC, KO Servo,Trinity 1S and a Trinity D4. That's $680 worth of "make it go goodies" and should buy me a win.

Right?!

I could always convert $460 of it to singles and flush it down the toilet one at a time.

Right?!

Or, I could buy the whole freakin car, diff, hop ups, Trackstar and Turnigy electronics and walk away with about $340 in my pocket.

Nah, can't go fast with that crap. Wait... my car is really good. I run that "crap". Must be cheating.

Wow that was fast.

By the way don't buy the Spektrum A5040. You will have to drill new hole to mount this servo. Get the Core RC servo if you want a direct drop in fit.

Higgins hobby shop will have 2 complete kits in stock some time the week of Oct. 20. They will include Type "A" Ascari Lightweight Bodies, Alloy (aluminium) rear axle, diff kit with 70T spur, 66T 48P option spur, front bearing set, Alloy rear spring hangers, MI5 Ball socket swivels, Lipo brace, MI4 servo mount set, Trackstar Gen II 1S ESC w/programming card, Trackstar 13.5 brushless motor and an MX-98E servo.

You will need Paint, pinions (30T - 35T 48P is a good place to start) and your receiver. They are $450.0 each all shipping included. All parts added from the base kit are for convenience, longevity and general weight reduction.
