OK so here's what I did. I took a mic and measured the clutch springs I took out. 2 were .040 and 2 were .036. I had a few springs laying around, looked olive color. They measured .036. Put 4 of the .036 guage springs and went to the track. Overall better performance but still not what I think it should be. Ended up ording an M2C 4 shoe clutch today instead of dumping more money into stock clutch.
Also I think I need a dif. pipe for my .28. I have a top end pipe and I think a low end pipe along with softer clutch springs will really make the combo work well.

U dont need a low end pipe on a Monster like a OS.28, You should be running Soft Spring's. for the M2C, you should try 2x .90's and 2x .95's
Finally got to the track yesterday. Ended up with the m2c 2 .90's and 2 .95's 14t clutch bell. Man did that setup work well. I was time limited so I didn't try anything else. Ran a half gallon through it and was really impressed. When I have time to tinker more I will try some other setups.
Also need to figure out how many flywheel weights to install on the m2c. If I remember correctly I have 3/4 of them installed. Seemed to idle real nice. Wonder with the os .28 if I should try and install all of them?
Need more time to experiment!!

Not much is going to slow the roll on that beast of an engine, So the set screw's are your choice. imo you should try all .9's and see how you like the feel. Your clutch shoes will also last a really long time on .9's with that torque monster. what Shoes do you have by the way ? Hards i would hope.
That depends how fast you wanna go. The Losi style clutch bells go up to 16t I think. I can't remember if they ever made a 17t or not. Those tall bells were made to give the dirt late models better gearing for the ovals.

thanks, i found a 17t on the bay right now. price is good.. but im just wondering if maybe 17 and up will be too high?
obviously i want it go fast but i dont want to sacrifice too much acceleration either.. hmm?
what do you think?

You are going to have to sacurfice somewhere. To gain top speed, you will loose acceleration and vice versa. You can even get a smaller spur like a 45 or 46.
