Tekno ET48 Thread
#2851
Yesterday was my first time out with the ET-48 and all I can say is I'm very impressed. Ran a mostly box-stock setup with the exception of yellow springs. I think I need to go a little lighter on the diff oils F & R but otherwise it felt really good.
There were only a couple of e-truggies at the Connecticut State Championships @ Wolcott Hobbies and Raceway so they ran us with the nitros. We were scored separately, but I was running in third overall and first in electric when they pulled the electrics at the 10 minute mark.
Considering that this was my first 1/8 scale event in 2 years and my first time ever running a truggy I'm very happy.

I just bought a one race old ET48 from a friend of mine. Got a smoking deal on it RTR with 4- new 4s batteries. It has a 1700kv Tekin truggy motor on it with a Gen2 RX8. Has anyone else ran this motor? My other truggy which is a non Tekno I'm running a 1550kv motor on 5s and get 17 1/2 minutes run time. What kind of run time would I be looking at with the 1700kv? Just wondering in case I have to run with the nitros and might need to make a battery swap.

Marc,
It really comes down to personal preference. I always carry both 15 and 10. If it's a really rought track I may choose 15 over the 10 just to smooth it out. If the track has tight 180's then I'll go with the 10, if it's fast and flowing I may go to the 15's.
Hope that helps,
Mark

TRK5042 = 10
TRK5042B = 15
Thanks.

I have 2 et48s and a eb48.2 and seriously considering buying the SCT410. Not a SCT fan but the class is huge down our way and the reviews on the SCT410 say its heavy and built almost identical to the eb48 but with 12m hubs so i thought it would not be much of a concern switching from buggy to sct on race day ?? So your saying it drives completely different to the buggy ??

Have had my ET48 for a few weeks now and I LOVE how simple and clean the layout is. The truck seems to be built like a tank and has shown no signs of wear really yet. I would however like some tuning advice if anyone cares to offer any. I've got two tuning problems. First, while the truck has tons of off-power steering, on power it has some pretty nasty push. What tuning advice would you recommend to dial in some additional on-power steering? Second, exiting a corner, the rear seems very loose and wants to step out. I feel like it also needs a dose of rear end traction. Any tips there? Overall I'm happy and this out of the box, I'm sure once I dial it in I'll be totally in love with it.

The reviews Ive read rave about it :-) I've had SCTs some years ago but wasn't impressed at all and moved to 1/8s but now the tracks close by have many more SCTs than 1/8s so just keen to run with the crowd ..lol..Looks the pick of the bunch, specially with parts compatibility.
