People don't realize just how different two people can kill a pack on the exact same track with the exact same tires, setup, etc..
Things like staying on the throttle more, spinning more, over revving, geared incorrectly, etc.. all make a HUGE difference on pack life. I don't baby my cars but I don't drive all out like a crazy dingbat either but I normally do pretty good and I rarely wreck so I get a good amount of runtime from my packs. I've been using these cheap turnigy 5,000mah 20C packs for years now and never had any issues keeping up with the $200 max amps packs or any other pack out there. I look at it the same way I do my mustangs at the dragstrip. There isn't any point in making more power if you can't hook it up. If you spin more your times will suffer.

Yes that's exactly how it works. When you see people coming out of corners with their front tires ballooning up looking like giant rubber pizza cutters due to them being at wide open throttle they are doing nothing but wearing out their tires and killing their batteries faster.
