Soft and super soft are what they say. Clay tires are a a little different some brands seem a lot softer than others like HB & Panther pink seems more like a super soft to me. JC Gold & PL MC feels a lot harder.

I have found that the clay tire compound really only works on a wetter track with good grip.
Where I race the clay tires either work really well or not at all.

Jc yellow, blue, green, and black are all general use tires. Orange, gold, and silver are all clay specific compounds. Clay compound tires differ the the mix of natural rubber in the tire. Clay tires are a different line all together.

What tyre & compound would you suggest for running on mainly loose dirt (not clay) & parts of worn down grass as it is a fairly new track and the grass is not fully worn away yet, thanks.

I agree, the PL MC and JC Gold seem pretty hard compared to Pink Panther and HB. I've been meaning to try some soft and super soft tires as all my tires are currently clay or gold or MC etc. My two tracks are currently OCRC and SCVRC though both of which are mostly clay. Seems like OCRC my clay tires don't' hook up all that well...

I would probably look to a good general purpose tire like a Proline Blockade or AKA Enduro. As for compound, cool weather go super soft, warmer go soft.

Should we try and build some kind of chart that lists all the brands and relative hardness levels so we can compare more easily across brands? Excel sheet? Maybe in google docs so we can all contribute? open to ideas….I'm thinking it should be similar to a spring chart. I've seen the on road guys use durometers for foam tires, but I could see this being problematic with rubber tires. We'd probably have to measure before mounting without foam. Maybe we should also be measuring the inserts and charting them as well….

Has anyone used the MIP Stickeez (seems like 3M double sided tape…) to stick their foams to the wheels? Seems this might help with balancing. On that same note, what's your favorite balancing tool?

Question about my evo typos regarding their compound. I have a set of the evo typos, and the bag says clay compound but they feel like a super soft tire. Especially compared to my proline clay compound suburbs. Is aka's clay compound really soft? Or did I get sent a mismarked bag?

Hmmm, I'd say that your Pro Lines are just a little bit harder. That's been my general experience. Also once mounted up the Typos feel software because the wheel is also softer than most.

Stickeez is not the same as 3M double sided tape it is much thinner. I use Duck Double-Stick Tape that I bought at Walmart. 3 rolls for $6.52 Much cheaper than Stickeez and very sticky. Does it make a difference...IDK (especially in 1/10 buggy). I just liked the idea of it preventing the foam from shifting on the wheel under side loads.

I have become tired of using too many tires, and now have boxes full of worn down tires.

Are there any tire sauce made for off road outdoor use that could be applied to worn out tires to get some extra laps out of them?
