Hard to say if you got a out of spec pack, I kind of remember Danny not selling that batch as race spec and that's where the out of spec pack sale started from which I don't see on the left side of smc's site any longer. From memory I got one of if not the first 7200's out the door, received on Friday raced on Saturday and reported back on Saturday. What i remember from my back & forth with Danny on Monday is that he was not going to be shipping those packs out till he got mine to test which I mailed back that day. No puffing, nothing visually wrong, just weak performance.
This is going a ways back though so can't say for sure.

I have a brand new 6500 70c 2s and I tried to balance charge it and it wouldn't peak out . It was on charge for 2 hours and just kept bouncing the one cell between 4.19 and 4.20 .

Default Race Spec 70C or 80C

Anyone own both? Looking for my sc10. Currently running gens ace. Quite a diff in price between 70 and 80c smc's. Wondering if the additional 10C is worth it.

Well I'm getting out of 1/8 scale so selling off my Race Formula 4s 6500mah. Got it mid July last year and it looks like (wne back to my results) I only used this for 4 race days so less than 20 cycles on it. Not in stock currently at SMC: http://www.rctech.net/forum/r-c-item...-hardcase.html

It really depends on what type of racing you are doing. If you are racing a competetive blinky class where every tenth counts and you need that little bit of extra edge then yes with the low IR that this pack has you may get a benefit from it.

wigman,

thanks for the reply. I run 7.5 mod so it looks like the 70C will be plenty. I run smc 4600 shorties on my b5m and they are great.

I run the Tekin RSX and gen 2 7.5. What kind of run times are you getting out of this pack? I will be running 10 min mains and am not sure if it will be strong enough.
