Yea, that's not how I am looking at it either. I am basing this off of the consistency of my pace relative to the other racers I have been racing against over the past few months with this car. The same way quali-points works for each round of qualifying. It's relative to the track conditions and changes.

So I'm going through my buggy, thoroughly cleaning and rebuilding the diffs and shocks. One of the spider gears in the center diff had teeth missing so I ordered replacement gears (tkr5140). When trying to put the new gear on the cross pin, I realized it's a smaller diameter than the cross pin. I'm guessing that's because it's the new gears for the eb48.2 despite the part number not changing. Would I be correct in assuming the crosspins (tkr5141) are now sold as the revised eb48.2 version as well? I don't wanna order new crosspins and have them be the same size as the original ones I have.

It should say on the website under the explination on the gears that it requires the updated pins. I believe it says the part number as well.

I read a few posts back where someone was inquiring about drive pin replacement in the dog bone ends. I think Mugen pins were recommended. Since I had some and the tool, I attempted to replace the drive pins in the short rear dogbone, despite measuring about a 0.05mm difference in pin diameter (Mugen pin being larger).

Based on the image below, looks like that 0.05mm was too much.

Anyone find any suitable pins for the Tekno dog bones?

I've been using the mugen pins with no issues. Also used some xray pins I had sitting around with no problem. I use a little arbor press to press them out and new pins in. Not sure if that matters but the only problem I ever had was when I slipped and let the bone rotate while I was pressing and I cracked the bone. I got about 3 pin changes out of the bones before I just replaced the whole bone.

What is the part # for those Mugen pins?

mcmaster-carr - Metric Dowel Pins - M3 - Alloy Steel.
choose the one 2mm longer than outdrive width and trim it down to correct length.

Mmmmm.... I love fresh kit.

New EB48.2 for the spring. Just finished it. The BCE chassis on my super light tekno buggy was stellar so I'm giving it a try on the EB48.2 now. This version has both the standard and rear battery positions. Gonna try it both ways tomorrow.

Maiden run in the morning. Cant wait!

For those running the BCE chassis. IM thinking about getting the new version, what can i expect with this compared to the stock? Turn's better, more planted all the way around, more nimble..ect

I use the same tool with the Mugen # C 0271 pins and have not split a shaft yet. I have heard stories of this happening though.........
