No, it took about 10 minutes to fit them. I had to drill two blind holes on each mud guard and trim about an 1/8" notch around the aluminum hinge pin brace. Pretty easy, and they are what I had.

Great idea with the mud guards!

Metoo -- Your build thread was very helpful to me. You want to add the RC8T Bulldog body and DE Mud Guards to your list?
I fine my back end sliding to, changed tires and down in diff oil but still a little loose !! What other changes are you going to make ??

I recommend the following:
10/10/5
Yellow springs F/R
Go up in shock oil F/R
Reduce the droop F/R

Try these in stages

Hope this helps,
Mark

Hello all,

I have tried to search this forum for a 6s set up and haven't had much luck without reading 150 pages of forum. I am not new to racing and upgrading from my tlr 2.0 to the Tekno Et48. I am sure I can figure it out but I wanted to see what everyone else suggests for a good starting point.

Here is what I am running:
Tekin T8 1350
Hobbywing 160 amp xerun esc
6s battery
CSI v port blue pistons
Koyosho springs

Here is what I would like to know:
What diff oils for 6s?
What springs f/r ( koyosho is prefers) if no koyosho then please provide spring rates.
Shock oils with csi blues in mind?
Sway bars?
Any other useful info as far as bump steer, rear toe, etc.....

Please PM me so I receive it and can ask questions privately

Thanks,
Robert

Your motor and battery combo are perfect. You wouldn't run anything differently in terms of diff oils or shock oils vs. a 4s/2000 setup.

As far as the Kyosho springs and CSI pistons, we're not too familiar with all of those options so we can't offer any good advice on those.

Start with the kit settings for the rest and go from there .

I raced in low bite track conditions last weekend and thought I could use some more overall traction. I changed link positions as follows:
Rear Tower - up and out
Rear Hub - 2nd from outside
Front Tower - middle and out
Front Spindle Carrier - outside

After I made these changes I could not break the rear end loose unless I was full turn and full break. I was searching for steering and the truck was pushing. Super easy to drive, but I had to set up for the corners. Still, I liked it and now I can make other changes to get more steering (remove steering stops, lower front ride height, raise rear ride height, etc.)

Txs guy,

I will try all these changes one at a time while at track practice and see what suits my conditions.

Txs again !!

Danny,
Would it be possible for you to post the rest of your setup? Sounds like this would be an awesome starting point. And I agree--it's "generally" easier to dial in more steering than to calm down the rear end--I find this to be the case with virtually all vehicles.

I run Kyosho 6:1.3 pistons all around and stock springs.

I have to tweak some more things before it's post-worthy.

I've got some new tires coming, so I want to test them before changing anything. Then I was thinking of going lighter on rear diff oil too. Thanks to Mark and Danny for the suggestions -- I will be trying some of those also. I already have some yellow rear springs which I am going to try out.

Update on the Bulldog body: nice and durable, which I need , but lets tons of dirt into the chassis! I am thinking about making some kind of shield to close the gaps around the sides.

Just a thought, works perfectly for me
