Yes gentlemen you would be correct. It is the trackstar four pole 2100kv. I also run this same motor in me EB48.2. I was being gentle on the truck since it was the maiden run. I will be running again on Monday and will post another video. Also I am running sweeps square armour blues for tires. I really like them. Thanks for all the great feedback.

I just picked up the same motor to replace the Tekin I'm stealing from my 8ight-T but I may try it in the Tekno first. What pinion are you running?

With no question.. yes the 150a xerun is a better ESC, not to mention sensored. Will the mm2 get the job done and well? yes as well. Not many people running these but I have not heard of many dumping.. so that is a good thing usually.

Ok great so im thinking a hobbywing esc paired with a t8 truggy 2000kv. Now I need some help on servos. Im aware there has been a lot of talk on them over the past couple of pages, but if possible I would still like to know if there are more options in the market, maybe a bit lower than $100/90 and yet effective ones? A budget servo in other words. Thoughts?

Was searching randomly and found this, what is the general view on this one:

This is the one i got for my truggy. I used it in my buggy this weekend and it's a very good servo. Will work well in my truggy. The one you posted I believe is a "TALL" servo. That means the case is taller then a standard servo so make sure you have the room.

Over the years I've purchased many budget servos, haven't found one yet that's worth owning. Get below about $75 and the quality goes down hill rapidly. I personally like the Savox 1256, works fine in a buggy or truggy costs around $80. Cheap servos don't perform well and don't last very long. The last $50 servo I bought lasted 2 laps, my last $80 is going on 2 years and still running strong.

So I'm not a hardcore racer but I just picked up one of these. I wanted to know if I use the stock shock pistons can I go up to a higher shock fluid instead of changing the pistons?

While waiting for my servo to arrive, I decided to make my truggy less aerodynamic with some .06" thick lexan.

Over the last 15 years, I've bought my share of budgets too, and still do. Back then, Hitec was considered budget. Though there are certainly some bad ones, you often can find gems in lower cost brands. I've seen a guy break two $120 JR servos in the same day. I've always bashed up until about 3 years ago. Even then, no serious racing. I've had a Tower Pro (TS-71 I think) in my Savage for nearly a decade and it has seen some miles. The Bluebird 621DMG+HS in my 1/10 race buggies (DEX410V3s) hold great and are way faster than I believe I need. My older Hitecs are still tick'n away. With the success of the Bluebirds in my 1/10 and 1/16 cars, I figured I'd try the titanium gear BMS-28a this time. Impressive numbers for the price. I can't say I like it yet, as it's still in transit to me. The steel gear Savox 1232sg is about $15 more, .1s slower @6v, and 8in-oz less @6V. None of these numbers are much different, but....the BMS can run at 7.4 V making it much faster (by .3s) and much stronger (by 83in-oz). Of course, the requires an ESC than can supply that or an external BEC.

Thanks. I thought about buying and trying a set of cheap DE Racing mud guard for the D8T and just drilling new holes, but I already had the lexan and time to fart around. I added the details in my ET48 Build Tips thread.

Ok here is the second video that I promised. Also a little info on my truck. Everything is completely stock set up on this run. I am running a hobbywing 150amp esc, venom 5000mAh battery w/ 50/100c, Hobbyking trackstar 2400kv motor (sorry thought is was a 2100) turned down, and a 15 tooth pinion, all on Sweeps square armour blue compound tires. On the run after this one I changed the front droop from 120 to 115 and changed to AKA Impacts soft compound and the run was even sweeter. Enjoy

I agree. I will go cheap on my motors and sometimes on my esc but never on the servo.

Ive heard savox servos can cause glitchy driving at times etc. If I were to buy a 1256tg savox paired with a HW 150a ESC would my drive be glitch free? Or would I need to get an external BEC or something of that sort?
