just got a used 44.2. Came with a nip aluminum avid chassis and the j concepts steering rack. In what conditions should the avid chassis be used in? Also what is the difference in the stock rack and the j concepts rack?

The JC rack is a very nice piece, the plate rides on bearings instead of bushings. It has an extra hole in the front of it to further mellow out the steering if you want. Middle hole is the same as the stock front hole (what I use).
Carbon fiber looks cool

Many opinions and reviews on the avid chassis in this thread and I'm sure some of them will chime in, I haven't run it.

Pretty sure the AE front and rear springs are coiled in opposite directions. I noticed it putting on the little shrink bands in the last kit I built.

Sweet! Gonna get em then, Thanks! This chrome look is turning out pretty bada#$ Now to strip the blue stuff. I installed the front and rear Hot Racing Braces too. The new Reedy motor will fit nicely as well! I'll post pics once It's done (and figure out how)

SP motor with 0-10* timing board set stock which looks like 5* so other motors this may be a little high.

Okay well that sheds some light on things. Sounds like a good short track set up actually.

Thinking of getting a front bumper although I hate the idea of one because I think they look gaudy! !! I have the front rpm a-arm's so is a front bumper needed??? I have not run my car yet so not sure if a front bumper is a must have! I would like to protect everything as much as possible but dont want a huge front bumper!! Any small front bumpers that you guys know of that can take a beating but dont look absolutely hideous? ?

I would pass, what will break the arm most of the time is clipping one side so the bumper will not likely help. It may help you endo if you land too nose down though.

The rpm arms must have tungsten rods in the center because they take a beating and keep on tickin. They also get rid of some slop in the front end.

That's all I'm running from now on. No loss in performance.

Any rumors of a new AE 4x4 buggy? All the new stuff coming out seem the 44.2 is getting a little dated.
