Cherry - got my 44.2 built with alloy bellcrank added.
Waiting on Triad.

So I see pics from all the big races lately. Some with B44.2 chassis length and some with B44.1 length. Not sure I need shorter out here for the outdoor tracks. What.you think?

And why are the guys using K springs at times and others I see the AE?

Haven't AE guys been using Kyosho springs for years? Long before we had big bores on our B4/B44?

Not years, probably 8 months or so. There was a big trend to use the big bore springs on the small bore shocks before the ae big bores came out. Some said it was to clear the shock better because the ae springs rubbed, others said it felt more plush.

Then the AE big bores came out and everyone started using those springs, but you still find AE people running x-gear springs still. The generally accepted truth is that the x-gear springs are some of the best springs on the market. Honestly, I could never tell a difference, and I hated that the x-gear's painted on the color code and it rubs off, and getting all the low cost AE springs was one of the things I looked forward to the most when I switched back to AE a week or so ago. The guy I sold my K cars to got like 120 bucks in x-gear springs! Sheesh!

yes, been using for years.
Except these days their using the Ae shrink on the K springs to keep out if trouble.

I find almost every Team driver in our area using the K spings which speaks volumes.

All the AE guys at the Rumble a few weeks ago were using AE springs, including Kody. There's no big secret to running the hot spring, AE has a huge variety in small increments... That's why they came out with them when the bb's came out.

Mark

Of course they were using Ae springs, not suppose & have too use right ?

Don't believe it .....( at least I don't )
Like I said , all their using is the Ae shrink wrap .
Almost impossible to know which springs are being used.

Every factory AE driver around here uses AE springs and I know that for a fact. I also know every factory driver in this area uses the .2 chassis. 1 it's not only faster here it's also more stable and consistent. Just becuase a few guys in your area use key things doesn't mean its best for the rest of the population.

Agreed. And it appeared as though they were using Ae springs at the JC Indoor nats as well. The AE springs are very good and come in a bunch of rates for fine tuning. also makes it easier to share setups.

are you suggesting that AE drivers buy or take perfectly good springs and take 2 cent heat shrink that comes with it and put it on kyosho springs.....instead of just buying heat shrink in colors? and kyosho springs do in fact have a different shine to them compared to ae springs.

Default schelle b44.1 chassis

It's no secret that the AE guys have been running b44.1 length aluminum chassis since the world's last year. I just saw on Facebook that Schelle has a .1 chassis ready to produce if the demand is there. I want one, so everyone hit them up on Facebook and ask for it!

I'm not going to get into a debate, but I saw them come out of the packaging... So whatever.

I just got done running K stuff the last 3 years, loved the X Gear springs.

Easy to spot vs an AE Spring. Coiled the other way. And the harder K fronts have much less spacing vs the AE.

Easy to spot which AE guys are running K springs at the big races in the photos.

Anyone know if the Avid 4/40 aluminum servo mounts will work in the 44.2? I' currently working on ridding myself of most, if not all of the blue parts. Going with
With the all black/chrome look
