I bought this radio about 3 weeks ago
Worked great for 2 weeks, but now it glitches big time, looses bind all the time and overall is a huge pain in the ass. I always run caps, and bec's as well and have tried fresh batteries. I would NOT recommend this spektrum product.

Thats what warranty is for.

So besides new AA's, you've tried different receivers and the problem still exists? If it worked excellent the 1st 2 weeks, then obviously something has happened in the 3rd week.
You need to find out what.

I can verify - will not bind to Orange DSM2/clone receiver.
No problems binding to Spektrum DSM2 receivers, registers as DSM2/5.5ms frame rate (if thats what framerate you chose). The SR410 appears to live up to the "sport" moniker and binds as DSMR/11ms, while the SR2000 as DSMR/5.5ms.
I'm guessing this is one of the true "upgrades" of this radio from the manufacturers perspective to prevent binding to clones. And I suppose it is their right to do so, but does suck for those trying to save some cash on receivers for their multiple vehicles.

The DX4R like its predecessor comes with the LEft handed kit. For giggles, it took me 17 minutes to convert.
Regarding quality, never had a problem. I would call Spektrum.
Frame rate question: SR410 is still a DSMR/dsm2 backwards capable receiver similar to the Dsm2 SR3100 unit for the dx3r. I used the 5.5 frame rate with my Hitecs on those with no problem. Not saying it isn't happening. I will give it a try tomorrow with the 410

Got mine today and it is very quick! I can confirm it does bind to the blue sr3000 rx's, awesome, and at 5.5 frame speed, unreal. They are faster than the 410, who would have known. I still haven't figured out half of it yet. I did switch to l/h, and you have to be patient. #2 screw driver works fine. The instructions do not mention the grip button connector also goes to the L/H side as well as the steering connector. The extra plates are for not using the drop down, so don't worry about them. It is going to take me weeks to get totally used to L/h steering, but I am doing pretty good already. I will be racing tomorrow and will let you know how it goes when around other radios.

This radio feels great, especially with the thicker grip. The screen is really fast. You can tell the response time is very quick. I am going to go back to r/h cross over style, as I cannot get used to left hand. I am okay going away, but coming back is a real problem for me.

I tried going back to R/H'ed, but this radio will not work for cross handed racers, right throttle finger and left steering. So I gave up and went back to L/H'ed and removed the drop down feature, that helped a lot. I am slowly getting better, and this radio has such a quick response time. I really like the size of the rx's, nice. That 2000 could fit anywhere.

I'm not using any glitch buster yet... got a Futaba Servo. But wanted to ask if anybody has experienced the same issues? Does a glitch buster help with the DX4R?
I actually really like the radio, it fits my hands perfectly and the feel is great... so I'm looking for a fix of this issues, rather than a new radio.
btw. my first DX4R that I got, was DOA when I got it... not the best way to start

I have got the radio since December, it was a nice upgrade coming from the DX4S. But now I had the 2nd racing weekend where I missed a main or/had a huge crash because it lost connection... (ESC still is on, the light on the SR2000 and later als the SR410 was off).

Side note. I did buy one of the receivers from Target Hobby. It bound to it with no problems. I also bound it to a different radio and then back to my radio. There was a question if the receiver can bind more than one time. The one I got did..

I was told that when the voltage gets around 5.1 or lower, the radio has connection issues. Ive been down to 4.9 and haven't had any issues to report. I am not running telemetry. Mine has been fine.

I'm using Eneloop and Eneloop XX batteries, it would really be bad if this would be the reason because it's normal that the transmitter drops to 5.1V or lower during a race day...I'm using Futaba servos and no telemetry at all.
Edit: It kind of makes sense however on a second thought... Practice day - arrived with about 5.1 - 4.9V,could run one pack then had issues like mad with the SR2000, changed to the SR410 for the last run... SR2000 would only work for about 10seconds driving. Race day - had some freshly loaded batteries, in the last main (i guess I had again around 5 - 4.9V) the SR410 would disco and I was not able to run the last main. - The weird thing... It only affects my 4wd buggy with the Fleta Pro ESC, my SC 4WD with the Hobbywing V3.1 had no disco issues. And I had upgraded the 4wd buggy from a Fleta 4 to the Fleta pro exactly because of the same issue in an earlier race, thought the ESC is causing the issue.

I too had a lost connection in a qualifying heat.....got flipped on its roof, marshall came over and flipped on its wheels but nothing. As I was walking back to my table with it, I switched the ESC off and back on again, hmm, everything back to normal. This happened only once on a 2 day event weekend.
I'm running the SR2000 receiver as well, some used AA's reading about 5.2V when Tx first turned on so maybe I'll get some fresh AA's and see how it goes next weekend.
