Tekno RC EB48 Thread
I raced at IERC today. It's an indoor clay track & this layout has a double double where you can quad it in 1/8 if you line up correctly. Well after my 1st qualifier I ended up 2nd but I also noticed that my rear gearbox had broke again
. So I decided to still run it since the shop didn't have a replacement. I still jumped the quad from time to time in the 2nd qualifier & crashed a couple times. Luckily I didn't have any further issues arise from running the broken part. In the main I was able to take it easy and build a good lead & didn't need to quad the jump. But eventually 2nd place caught up to me & I choked it on the last lap & finished 2nd. But the broken gearbox held up. I don't like running a broken part but hopefully Tekno gets this part situated soon.

How many people raced 1/8 buggy and what tires did you run?
We only had 5 tonight but usually there is a full heat at least. AKA handlebars and wishbones work great there, clay or super soft compounds.

I don't know if it was new car syndrome or what but I had an improvement in lap times and consistency. It wasn't huge but overall more comfortable. I think that with the increased time people have had with the car and establishing setups that work well, this car has really began to shine over the rest. In theory though, the new and old car should handle about the same. However, I feel the 15 degree hubs should come standard on the car as they made a big improvement in my eyes. I like them better than the 10 degree. The car is much more smooth and consistent. Not as edgy and much easier to drive.

I got to run the yellow rear and orange front springs on my buggy tonight and a sway-bar to 2.3 front an 2.5 rear and 3mm in front of the rear hub an 2mm in back. The buggy felt better to me on the carpet track with 2s LIPO.

All clay/indoor tire works, ions/typos are the hot ticket. You're not allowed to run slicks for racing although they work great.

Orange/yellow work great! I cut my bladder for emulsion (seats better than rings) with the 8x1.3 pistons.

I am running bladders from kyosho with the 4 flaps and the stock oil the piston are kyosho also 1.4x8. The only reason I got them in there is cause the the stock molded piston was rubbing the inside of the body, and I like machines pistons better.
The handling diffs in the 48.2 are the box setup changes (springs and +1.5 rear) as mentioned. The other upgrades are either for lighter weight (Al instead of steel) or for durability (tough arms and rear gearbox). The tough arms can double as a tuning aid since they have diff mount locations on the outside.
I just changed mine to 5k up front. I got rained out so I didnt get to try it out
i am at 5-5-5 right now. 7-5-5 was great but i want to try 5k up front now. Glad to see it works well for you.

In practice I was able to click off a 22.5 and a 22.6. I was the only driver to get into the 22's during the races as well with a 22.8 and 22.9. My car is extremely good right now.
