Tekno ET48 Thread

Yea it might seem weird sometimes but keep an eye on the AKA site, you can get good deals their once in a while. AKA tires are awesome imo and the mounted ones are even better. I've mounted hundreds of tires in my career and it's hard to do a job that matches the quality of AKA. No I'm not sponsored by them, just a happy customer!

Awesome! Always nice when it goes that way. Good job. Sorry about the spur.

I admit, I was scared of truggy. It look like a rabid piranha trying to each everything in the river. Sure looked fun though. So did you use the 18T pinion the whole day?

Get ahold of SMC I'm testing some 6s race packs for him,, he will carry if there is demand!! 6s 3400 70c and 6s 4300mah 40c I think they are...
Gens ace are the best available today but they are soft packs, get these before hobbyking IMO. They all easily fit.
You guys new to make sure and let SMC know via FB or email that there is demand!

15 sounds real close to me, that's about 40 to 41mph depending on tire compounds. You can sand a little off of the center differential brace and put on a 14t pinion, that would drop your top speed about 2.5mph. For me if 15t is running good without any heat issues I would stick with it. I normally like to run a little bit over geared, for my driving style it works for me. I've noticed on this forum most of the Tekno drivers are racing with real tall gearing. Like 18t pinions with 4300kv motors. Got to be rockets on the straights, all about control and serious talent imo.

Understanding the size of the tires and the role it plays is paramount. It's a learning curve that will be overcome as people realize truggy != buggy.

Insert start of disagreements of 4s vs 6s here
