I'm a proline guy myself. I have some aka tires but all were given to me. I haven't had good luck with aka. I have been slowly getting rid of the aka tires I have . I do like there foam in 1/10 2wd buggy.

club racing last night I pulled quickest lap of the night in buggy, truggy and 1/10th buggy in the Tekno truggy. Was in a solid second place in main and 1.5 minutes before the end the truggy ate a spur gear. Was a good night.

Thats a 20 c pack most Rc cars required no less then a 40 c pack for the ultimate demands that our rc cars and trucks need for racing or bashing , i seen quite afew of this 30 c packs , and under swell up in just a few minutes of racing , at my track where I race but thats 1/8 scale don`t know about 1/10 scale .

Correct me if I'm wrong but the low amp draw and efficiency of 6s you could get away with a lower c rating.

Not so unless you keep using big mah cells.

if you go to ~4000 you still need a decent C-rating (30C +).

Awesome! Always nice when it goes that way. Good job. Sorry about the spur.

I admit, I was scared of truggy. It look like a rabid piranha trying to each everything in the river. Sure looked fun though. So did you use the 18T pinion the whole day?

when we watered down the track the 18 tooth was waaaaay too much. Went back to the 14.

4000mah you can get away with 40c, 3000 range id stay with 50c+

Get ahold of SMC I'm testing some 6s race packs for him,, he will carry if there is demand!! 6s 3400 70c and 6s 4300mah 40c I think they are...

Gens ace are the best available today but they are soft packs, get these before hobbyking IMO. They all easily fit.

You guys new to make sure and let SMC know via FB or email that there is demand!

For those of you running the 2050 buggy motor, what gearing are you finding works best on a medium sized track? I am running a 15T and my temps are ok, but I feel like it's a bit over geared.

15 sounds real close to me, that's about 40 to 41mph depending on tire compounds. You can sand a little off of the center differential brace and put on a 14t pinion, that would drop your top speed about 2.5mph. For me if 15t is running good without any heat issues I would stick with it. I normally like to run a little bit over geared, for my driving style it works for me. I've noticed on this forum most of the Tekno drivers are racing with real tall gearing. Like 18t pinions with 4300kv motors. Got to be rockets on the straights, all about control and serious talent imo.

I have to be honest, I don't think they understand the gearing/tires. Not to speak ill of some of the drivers, but they aren't use to these types of setups yet. It will probably settle down back to 14-16t as things go forward for a good chunk of the average tracks. The massive size of these tires and power they put down, 18t is pushing 50-55mph in many situations and just nearly impossible to handle. Truggies have major torque on the low end geared properly for ~40ish mph max and I think some are thinking that means they're undergeared and trying to adjust accordingly to 16-18t+.

Understanding the size of the tires and the role it plays is paramount. It's a learning curve that will be overcome as people realize truggy != buggy.

Insert start of disagreements of 4s vs 6s here

I forgot about having to grind on it to fit the 14t. I'll stick with the 15.
