I used to run a Losi SCTE with the MIP Pro4mance kit on it. Stay with me here. I used to be one of the fastest in the area with this truck. It always went where I wanted it, always in control. I gave it up due to the bashing and how much maintenance that thing was though. Anyway, I've never been able to get that feel with anything 1/8. I tried Losi, Mugen, Kyosho... all great cars, but none of them had that natural feeling. Then I drove a friend's EB48 and fell in love. I felt as in control as I did with Pro 4. Once I got one I had to change the setup a good bit but now it's right where I want it. Best 1/8 car I've driven, period.

I've ran the VTX8 in a different car. Great ESC. I just wasn't happy with size, weight, and it being sensored only. I saw people lose races from a loose/bad sensor wire.

Thanks of the input guys and by all means don't get me wrong. To expect a 1/8 EBuggy to handle like a short course would kinda be foolish. Just a fan of the platform. And have local parts support for it. Gunna drive one tonight and see how I like it.

as you would want the highest mah, probably a 7200 or the new 7600mah packs (assuming hardcased high C rating), those are 330 grams.

proteks 3700mah 4S pack is about 342grams

SMCs 3500mah 4S pack is about 335 grams

so in short the batteries woudl be close if not the same, assuming same dimension requirement for 4S and 2S.

so it would come down at that point in my opinion to a weight difference on the motor itself.

T8I = 374 grams
Pro4 HD = 221 grams
Pro4 540 = 193 grams

First off I have had the tekno SCT and loved it from how it drove, to the quality and durability. Does the E buggy have the same general feel as far as SCT410 as in lots of steering and 'easy" to drive?

Will i be able to fit a bigger ESC then An RX8, I love my viper stuff but a most picsi see of this buggy show rx8s and not sure with the size of the VTX8 ''
(65mmX55mm vs 55mmX38mm) just curious if anyone has run a VIPER VTX8 and have had no packaging issues?

thanks for the time

I started with an RC8.2 and switched over given I was running faster lap times with my SCT410. For me the eb48 feels like my SCT but has more power, more grip, and more steering.

Out of the box the eb4 has tons of steering. So much i had to turn my limiters down about 5% from max throw until I got used to it. I've always felt that it's easier to numb down a twitchy truck than to sharpen a dull feeling truck.

it starts out twitchy but if you go with the .2 you will be fine. Also it is real easy to throw some +2mm hubs on the front and rear and it settles it down a ton. I struggled at first but if you can get used to it you will do way better with it. I would rather push a tekno than drive a losi.

I'm glad you tried it, I love mine. I drive kyosho for 1/10 and Tekno for my SCT/8th scale. If Tekno made a 10th 4x4 buggy, I would get rid of my lazer in a heartbeat.

I'm still running the Pink & Reds that came with the kit and recently did a couple small changes and got a heavier 4s and its like driving a whole new car.

Before with the lightweigt 4s I had (13oz) the best I could turn was 20laps 5:15 and now with the new changes and heavier 4s (20.5oz) I'm turning 21laps 5:15 the past couple weekends.
My kyosho Orange springs are much softer than my tekno red rear springs both are new.

I don't know what to say. If anyone have time could test their springs please.

I may need to buy some more reds springs bc mine don't feel softer than the kyo Orange.
Thank you

is there a difference between the handling of the EB48 and EB48.2 or is it just an upgrade in durability?

I don't know if it was new car syndrome or what but I had an improvement in lap times and consistency. It wasn't huge but overall more comfortable. I think that with the increased time people have had with the car and establishing setups that work well, this car has really began to shine over the rest. In theory though, the new and old car should handle about the same. However, I feel the 15 degree hubs should come standard on the car as they made a big improvement in my eyes. I like them better than the 10 degree. The car is much more smooth and consistent. Not as edgy and much easier to drive.

Right now, indoors, my track limits 1/8 to 3s. But, outdoors, I have been running 6s set ups for years on Tekno V4 conversions. In my area, we only run 10 minute mains, at most and almost always have enough to run separate from Nitro, so extended mains is rarely a concern. That said, I normally run 3300MaH packs, various mfrs.
