Just wanted to confirm... a Serpent 811T-E body will fit.

I got one in to paint today and hacked it up enough to get it on the ET48 and sure enough it will fit. There is about 1/2in overhand on both sides, but thats nothing a little velcro won't fix up. I'd like to get some pics of it mounted up, but its for a customer so I'm sure he wouldn't be happy with extra holes lol.

I've seen duct tape used on the inside to help hold it, but eventually it gives. On hard and large knob tires I've seen fishing line used on the outside between the knobs, but that just seems like a recipe for disaster to me. None of those are considered legal for racing last time people I know were asking, but generally the best place to ask about stopping ballooning will probably be speed run forums.

Yes I asked about this with regards to bashing people. If duct tape gives in eventually, is there any other solution for anti ballooning which is a bit more permanent? And I agree fishing lines just sound bad.

I wanna see an elephant seal body. The body cuts perfectly for it.

I got this pic and more with the body mounted clear, plus instructions to get it mounted HERE.

No, to your second question. The center of the hood would rest on the bases of the stock posts before the post could even touch the taller parts of the hood (see pics in link above). The Traxxas parts are perfect and pretty quick to make up.

This pic is from the top, but gives you the information you are looking for.

Measured at the closest points of the body to the chassis:
Passengers side: 21mm gap
Drivers side: 27mm gap

Let see pics without the holes.

Which of these are you talking about? I like the last one. I figured it would be way too short with the tower to tower distance of 14-1/4 (reported) being 3/4" shorter than the ET48 and the shocks of the Serpent being mounted on the front. I guess you set the body way rearward. I'd like to see it.....if its the second body pictured below.

Guys I'm basically trying to figure out which tires would be best for bashing purposes. Focus primarily being durability and longevity of their life. I've heard AKA cityblocks are very durable and last for a long time is that true? Cityblocks in medium compound would do OK? What other options might be good contenders for sure use purposes. Badlands?

If you want long wear and don't particularly care about great handling (holding a line, etc) you need large tread. Unless your bashing will be in moist or loose dirt and grass, I wouldn't go with Cityblocks or any racing tread. The Badlands look great for what I assume you want them for.

I figured there would be a large gap between the rear tower and the body and even larger gap between the rear uprights of the body and shock tower. It's not horrible though if you scoot the body back some. That may be my next body.

But one question. Will the body land-out on the base of the front post without the front shocks or front tower touching the body?

Ya, there is a noticeable gap in the back and you cant scoot it back much more or the shocks won't clear in the front.

I can't say for sure if the body will clear the towers, it looks like theres enough in the body to clear, but it will be close. I'd love to give a positive answer, but I can't put holes in these bodies.

Badlands on Desperado rims are awesome for bashing! Best used on any terrain except pavement. I use them on all of my truggies and I intend to put them on my et48 as well, since I don't race. I recommend them for any basher vehicle.

...but Desperados are 1/2 offset, which looks ridiculous. I would put the Badlands on 0 offset wheels.

As already seen in many of these forums, looks are subjective. Hardly any of us will have vehicles that look as nice as yours. However, for the basher crowd, many could care less if the wheels look perfect on their machine. I personally love the look of the tires and wheels. The offset does not bother me in the slightest. I can see your point though. It is just so darned easy to buy them already glued to a great set of rims. In the end, to each his own. Your vehicles do look pretty darned good though.
