I think I got a DOA Gen 2 RX8. After wiring everything up and going through all the programming etc. I get the the flashing trouble code that indicates "Incorrect motor type selected" I double checked the setting in Howire and it is set correctly. I wired up another T8 thinking maybe the motor was bad, but I still have the same issue.

Lol yeah I'm aware

It was posted sarcastically to show I'm waiting for a response. A popcorn smiley would have been the same.

Make sure you do a factory reset on the unit. All it would take is for you to choose a brushed motor type by accident and it would do just this.

I did that. Twice actually. When I have it plugged in via the Hotwire the motor selection is correct. I also tried changing the firmware version to see if that made any difference. I just hooked my Gen 1 RX 8 up to the same motor and receiver and it works fine.

Ok, that narrows it down right there. If the Gen1 works and the Gen2 doens't and you're sure the settings are right, it's bad.

Please contact [email protected] The guys will take care of you.

I just installed RX8 Gen 2 brand new yesterday - (changing from Gen 1). INstalled - radio calibrated, tried to connect via APP for the first time and no go, but truck would run fine so I ran the practice night thinking it was issue with my phone. When I tried the APP - my Galaxy note 2 wouldn't connect. So today hooked up my laptop for regular Hotwire and also cannot connect.

APP - Galaxy NOte 2 Android version 4.1.2

Regular HOTWIRE:
Green light flashing on HOTWIRE
Red on "DB" on the RX8
Laptop - i hve always connected this laptop so no issues there

PS: I don't know what version of Tekin software in RX8 G2 since i cannot connect. I just purchased this off Horizon so I believe it is recent

1. Can you shed some light on this, really excited to use the data logging and App
2. Is there a link to the datalogging manual - cannot find on Tekin website
thanks

Did you download the latest firmware to your laptop? You should.
Sometimes my notebook will not connect and I have to shut down hotwire and open it back up. Then it connects.
Make sure you hold the inc button to clear the data that came in the ESC so you can record your own data.

For the app, try using it with the lipo powering the ESC and the ESC switch on.

Tried latest firmware on Laptop and Yes this worked as far as laptop connection - can now see datalogging, thank you!

App - still no go, tried uninstalling app and reinstalling and still the same
1. Will start in Demo mode
2. When I connect it says "Connecting to Speed Control", in the upper left corner it changes from DEMO to V246, then "Connection to.." box goes away, but I cannot see any data.
3. Tried with battery connected and switch on and it will only start in DEMO
4. HW box still flashing green and RX8 G2 RED light on at DB position.
