Tekno SCT410 Thread
At OCRC, being a hard pack high bite clay indoor with misters, the Tekno SCT410 does a lot better when you enter into the turn a little slow, then power through the turn. Often doing drifts around them. At least this is how the fastest guys run it (both Tekno trucks). I'm slowly learning, it's not as easy to learn power driving around a tack than it is to learn to be smooth. Power driving when learning yields more crashes. The body is sure taking a beating as I learn, but I have yet to snap anything, knock on wood, yet...
I'm going to be moving to the Fioroni Pistions as well and will be trying out SRAMOS' setup, with the exception of one stop softer springs all around and using AE oils close to the Losi oils he is using this chart: https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=...59026428,d.cGU
However I'd love to hear from other people running the Fioroni pistons!!!!!
That's one of the tracks I run with very little brake.
Smooth in and fast out. That track allows you to put a decent amount t of power down exiting the turn but acceleration out and speed in the transition are different. Yes, get all the throttle you can exiting but you may not want to be 100% in between the two turns. Come in too hot and you are braking more than the guy that moderated speed and is turning inside.
A little bit of Dr. Jeckle & Mr. Hyde. Some sections of the track you should be evil and others you should be nice
I'll let you know about the Fioroni's, just put them in.

Hi everybody,
I haven't had a chance to go through and update any of the first posts on the Tekno threads. My wife and I just had our second child so I've been pretty busy and not sleeping as much as I'd like
I plan on adding more tips/tricks, optional products, etc. to the first posts over the weekend.
If you have something specific you'd like to see on the first post, send me a pm (some already have
) and I'll do my best to get it up.
Matt

I've always been electric, so no nitro finger. That being said, I still often pulse throttle to control speed, but it is a small varying pulse between about 15% or so of the throttle range. I generally follow the smoother don't have to brake hard in the corner method, as I still can't moderate how much brake I use very effectively, so I usually end up with too much when it should be subtle. If I could apply subtle changes in braking well, then I could build more speed and brake just a little to shift weight and slow again, making the turn even faster...but I'm still working on that skill.
I don't think that's really true all over. It really depends on the track you're on. Tighter tracks will demand more braking, otherwise you're just going too slow. These 4x4 trucks already have much more neutral drag than the 2wd's, so that helps not needing to use brakes as much. That coupled with the fact that we can rotate the truck using throttle helps a lot to.

I agree, there is more information to add to help out everyone. But things like Tire suggestions is very "very" opinion oriented and shouldn't be posted as some kind of "faq" for this truck. People 'will' be upset. That goes for batteries too, honestly. One puff and our "faq" is garbage for alot of viewers. As far as Camber, and all those tricks, it's really just quoting the Hudy guide. Go download it on a tablet, or your smartphone and pull that puppy out at the track. I'm a Team driver and that thing is my savior. I don't remember all this crap! haha.
Way too many variables to suggest tires, best thing for someone new is to call the track they plan on visiting and ask them. Or go there and ask some of the fast guys... and the same guy that you can call at the counter.
To get a general idea, go to JC or PL or Panthers website to get a general idea of what tire is good for what condition... but that's really vague as compounds within the treads are yet another variable.

Ran the Fioroni's with Sramos' oil/spring setup last night. They definitely work well, and I didn't get the nosedive nearly as much as before, which was tolerable already. Still letting it soak in to decide what changes I want to make for me, but overall they're great. Ran them in my EB48 also.......My only struggle to tune out right now (in both cars) is that braking into flat corners my front end would slide and I couldn't turn until I feathered back into the power, so I ended up deeper into the turns than I wanted. I had just gone up to 10k in center diff on both cars, and I'm sure this contributed, so will be going back to 7k when I get a chance, I also could turn down the braking a bit, but I kind of need it for the end of a long(80') carpet straightaway bridge with an abrupt turn to a dropoff at the end.
Had about 12 guys per class, some with respectable finishes at trophy races, I ran 2wd buggy, 2wd sc, 4wd sc, 1/8 buggy, TQ'd all 4 and won all 4 A-Mains.........I drive/practice a lot for fun, mostly on my own private track, but this was only the second time I have showed up at an actual race(TQ'd and won the first time also), they didn't know what to think
Winning 2wd was the icing on the cake, as I have very little experience there, but it's coming together for me all of a sudden. It's only a small club race, but I'd be lying if I said I wasn't pleased with the outcome
