what kind of different in ratio do you notice between your VTA setup and your USGT setup, assuming same motor timing (different motor types of course), battery, etc?

Wondering if with that kind of info can then use that as a ball park of where to start with the USGT vehicle I am completing.

I'm pretty opposite of what Greg posted. LOL! I run 3.8-4.0 in VTA and ran 3.4-3.6 in USGT. Relatively large asphalt track.

on the car
and also the 16 spoke

Man that looks good. I plan to do something slightly similar at least colorwise, but decal it with my usual "The Crow" decals I have.

for me, VTA I am running a Speed Passion 25.5 since the combo was cheap ($75 for Reventon stock club race and motor) with the 20 degree timing board, and I think I am at FDR or about 4.1 in an Xray T3 2012. For me I found that I got the punch and power I needed going that route when I think other guys with different motors were going with lower timing and smaller FDRs.

I'll give your advice a look as a starting point. Really liking these xrays, definitely feels like quality vehicles.

when I run my SP 25.5 I use the stock black timing board cranked to max and will run a lower fdr then I would with the novak.

Thats the funny thing. Here I tried that, and I liked the punch I had initially, but had no top end. literally could just cruise the track at basically full throttle, motor was cold to the touch.

Figured go up in pinion size, got speed, but now I had no guts on the bottom end.

changed to a bit more timing, and whammo, bit more speed, more heat, no top end (went slightly smaller on pinion red board).

In desperation figured try what I was thinking and went green board, much smaller pinion so ration was in the 4.1s I think, and I had what I was looking for, speed and torque.

Hoping the theory works for the 21.5 I got coming in lol.

I appreciate any advise you have though for setting it up. Will be using a SP GT2.0 Pro I have here with the motor.

Mopar-
The Corvette looks really cool. Next time you might also consider our Jaguar XKR.

That Jag would look really good with the HBSC F1 livery from a few years back. Brad has those decals, too (the HBSC ones).

crispy-
We usually photograph our rear wings and spoilers full, so you can see what you have to work with. They can be trimmed down to any rules specs. When there are no rules on size, I like to play around with the side plates....
