Kaw1000....

http://www.mylaps.com/en/products/rc4-transponder/78

bottom of the page..operating voltage 3.0v-16v DC

Your Hybrid should be no different. I see no reason you couldn't run it straight off of a 7.4v lipo

The original personal transponder from AMB was called a DP (Direct Power). Has it on the sticker on the case. When MyLaps took over they called them rc2 transponders... and continued to make them.

Sweet!! Going to rig it up so it will be compact with a switch. Will take pictures and post when I'm done! going to use a tiny two cell like I use in micro airplanes.
Thanks for your help!

From what I'm reading it is,.. (if you're asking if it will work on old & new systems). But I haven't seen any yet, nor do I have an older system to try it on.

Five different cars...can't afford to buy 5 transponders and a real hassle to hook them to receiver when a few are in water proof boxes.

I have 4 AMBrc's...(that I over paid for)...but then again I haven't had to upgrade anything. If someone is in the market for a PT they can currently buy a MyLaps Hybrid for about $105 or an new MRT for $85, save 20 bucks and hope MyLaps doesn't burn them again. I would spend the extra 20 bucks, but that's me.
