You're over geared for one. 6s 1400 on a TLR buggy should be in the 15-16 range on average to large sized tracks.
For the record those temps while on the warmer side aren't horrible. I'd like to see them lower as well and bet the gearing change will sort that out.
Your truggy is also over geared if you're running 17/45.

I'm not gonna touch the truggy cos it seems solid, remember timing has been turned down quite a bit and the 4038 being more of a motor seems to handle the power more efficiently so temps are spot on, and just btw at 13t and 14t on the truggy (timing on 1) i was under geared quite a bit as temps were sky high.

i did a search but didnt find it
how can you troubleshoot the bec in this gen2 esc?
i have all new systems in my rides
only problem is in my ebuggy
gen2 rx8 gen 2 1900 motor hitec 7955tg servo spektrum 3100 rx
(all my other cars have the same setup except my SC truck has pro4HD motor
im getting steering and throttle hesitation
put in spektrum glitch buster and it is ok
thought putting bec voltage to higher setting wouldve fixed this?
i put it back down to 6v, only put it higher to try it
my truggy and sc truck work fine

That servo is rated at 4.0 - 6v. The manufacturer knows what they built. http://hitecrcd.com/products/servos/...-servo/product
Applying 7.4v to component only rated for 6 will cause problems as he was obviously seeing. He switched back to 6.0v and it works fine...case solved.

While the 7955TG is not officially rated for 2S Lipo, it is capable of using them with no reduction in life cycles. Hitec does have specific HV servos coming soon including the 7954SH which is essentially exactly the same servo as the current 7955TG but with steel gears.
The top of the line will be the 7950TH with over 480in/oz of torque at 7.4v!
Look for these new High Voltage servo around June, but for now... Yes, it's okay to use the 7955's on unregulated 2S Lipo which will make the specs right around .13sec@375in/oz.
Mike.

Looks like its $93 for trade in but maybe if they can fix the gen1 you get a repaired gen1 back for $45 or whatever needed to be fixed... good question.
I would guess if you said I want a gen2, here's my $93, tekin would say OK
