Cogging
#1
I have a LRP sphere. I have tried 4 motors ranging from 21.5 to a 7.5. I have tried 4 sensor wires but it still persists.
What happens is this:- Plug in and turn radio and car on, pull the trigger, nothing except the lights do their usual thing. Lightly push the car and it goes, the motor can be revved through the range, but once it stops, it will not go again until it is pushed.
All solder joints are OK but there has to be something small, what is it please.
Thanks
Bob

if you measure a/b b/c c/a in volts on the motor you should spot one of the groups missing
sadly its a back to factory repair
all the best

Ive recently had the same thing happen to a Hobbywing 120a esc. Faulty esc.
I tried different sensor wires / motors.
Unplug your sensor wire and try it.
Mine works when the sensor wire is unplugged.
No warranty on mine, so it will be used on an old buggy.

LRP Esc's won't run without the sensor wire, in fact the early spheres take no sensor wire as you running a brushed motor and thats a quick way to fry things!
If you have another car with a sensorless esc, try the motor on that so you can rule the motor out as being faulty.

Thanks Nexxus, but the motors are all good, in fact only a few minutes on each. The ESC has never been used for brushed motors by joining 2 wires, did that with another LRP and that has no probs. Maybe I will just get another Tekin.
