So I got my conversion kit from Bugle Boy, and I went to build my durango gear diffs...

Durango included the wrong size bearings with both gear diff kits. WTF

I have not installed the gear diffs so I'm flying blind but the Durango bearings are metric and the AE housing is standard. I think the bugle boy kit comes with a spacer to take up the gap between the bearing and the housing right?
Even with that spacer, shim whatever it is not the right size?

The bearings included w/ the gear diffs aren't the ones that are supposed to be included. They don't even fit onto the diff housing or over the outdrive. They're not the part # that is shown on the little instruction manual.

The bugle boy kit does come w/ spacers to make up difference between the bearing and gearbox housing, but my build came to a screeching halt.

Oh, that sucks.
If the Durango bearings don't fit on the Durango diffs, they obviously packed it wrong

so it stands to reason that the ghea pistons fit the shock body more precisely/ tightly and still have the same hole diameter.

using 30 weight in B4.X and B44.X there was way too much pack. then dropped to 25 weight oil simply too much pack as there was no "blow by"

I think someone called the oil that would pass by the side of the moulded associated piston, "blow by".

so without the blow by and using these pistons i'd have to drop to 22.5 or 20 weight oil.

bummer- got plenty of 25 and 30 weight. not keen to buy more oils at the moment.

fact it that I still saw guys with 'out of the kit' B4.X and B44.X going faster. this upgrade might have to go into the 'waste of r/c dollars??' thread

any ideas ghea piston people???? thanks in advance.

What would it take too turn this into a short course truck?

Whatever it would take for you to sell it and use the proceeds to buy a short course truck!

Seriously, there would be no practical path I see to get there. No readily available longer chassis or arms, and even if you some how made that work you would want to put gear diffs in and that's another $180 sourcing from Bugle Boy.

Very few new setups Have been posted lately. For medium-high bite clay Are you guys still running the same piston package as last year? 1.6 fronts and 1.7 rear pistons?

Got to hit the track today, man is this buggy freaking sweet.

One thing though, after a 6min max run, I was 190 on the motor, and 160ish after another run. Geared 18/81, zero timing on a 6.5

Why so hot?

Maybe more rotating mass???? My guess???? Do the gear diffs bind at all?

Motor bearings are good? No binding anywhere in the drivetrain with the motor backed off so all you feel is drivetrain resistance? Gear mesh is not too tight?
Thats warm. My 6.5t with 15° of esc timing after 10+ minutes I come off at 145°. That's with 19/81 gearing.

I have a race coming in December at Northern Cyprus and I am thinking about getting aluminum A arms. I know, I know...But wait a bit before yelling "Blasphemy!" at my face.

Along with GPM front & rear (they are a great deal together and you cannot get just the front ones anymore) a arms, I will also be buying these:

and these:

I already have the AVID chassis so I think I will be good in hard landings. I know I'm not a seasoned racer but I'm fairly competent and I just don't go hitting stuff at full speed.

So I'm really thinking about getting these until at least RPM comes up with a design. What do you think?
