lol, now you just make me feel bad about being cheap.... jeez, lol. In perspective, I spend $50 taking the wife and kids out to dinner, lol. We went out to dinner last week, and all i could think was "man, you know how many sets of tires I could buy for the food cost"

My question is how is this any different/better than the AE plate or the AVID plate? The weakness of the AE plate is that the material is all removed from one side, this is going to give it the tendency to bend as there are stresses in the part from the machining process. The AVID plate is machined clean through, in a different direction than the AE plate and not as near the motor mount. Honestly the AVID plate should be the best design of the milled plates I've seen. That said someone was just complaining of the softness of the AL used on his plate and that the screws stripped out. That's obviously not good.

Birdshot target practice lol....
It looks different, not in a bad way.
I just use the old Black RTR motor plate in my B4.2

Thats how my car is mostly black (avid, JC) then the rest of it blue. hinge pin brace, rear hubs, shock collar.(hopefully will be black soon if Avid or JC makes that stuff in black). A little birdy from avid said lots stuff for the AE vehicles will be coming soon.

As for the blues being different, unfortunately Associated picked one of the most difficult colors to anodize. Blue ano is such that it's very tough to duplicate the same hue consistently because it's much more sensitive to climate changes, anodic bath temperature and the lye simply doesn't retain its potency for as long as other colors. As such, Blue lye needs to be replaced frequently and the anodic bath as well so the sulfuric acid in the mix is at it's maximum strength. My T4.1 FT's blues are a washed out, almost denim blue and my 4.2 buggy's blue parts are a nice deep blue, though the hues vary slightly from part to part. And if Associated's own components shift in the blue hue, JConcepts' anodizer's blue will surely be of a different hue. Now, "IF" JConcepts wanted to match Associated's blue more closely, they can simply send genuine Associated parts to the anodizer for matching and they would come really close, and in some cases exact.
I wish someone would begin doing Slime Green ano on their parts because that's my color of choice and relatively easy to replicate almost exact every time. I might just send all my parts to a friend and have him Slime them up for me.
