I saw way back in this thread about them saying they were working on something for programming, that was 3months ago?, has any1 heard anything new or TEKIN do you guys have anything to say about it, I'm not 1 that complains about using Hotwire cause it's no inconvenience for me but if you guys stated there was something in the works, why not ask haha, anyway I don't think it's a program card but I think you guys are trying to work a deal to have a app so people could use their phones, tablets etc. to program since this was stated before as well

? About the rx8 g2, I've never used a hv servo but I have a radiopost which is capable of 8.4v, so with the rx8 g2 I just set it at 7.4 and I'll get the full 7.4 performance stats out of my servo with no need to hook it direct to the lipo?

Dunford and I recently built our 8ight-E 3.0 with spektrum's S6090 HV servo's and put the Gen 2 RX8 BEC up to 7.4V. Works GREAT!!!!!

Nice, that's good to know cause I didn't want the servo soldered to the lipo leads

The app is alive and working. We're polishing it off and verifying it on more devices before we let the team have first crack at it. I've been testing it on my Samsung Tab 2 as well as a $45 4" tablet from Walmart...stay tuned.

No change on the Mac/Apple front.

Hideeho
Iirc any android device should run the new software, correct? Guess I'll be looking at walmart for a $45 tablet instead of apple for an $800 one

Maybe one of these years on apple since I have an iphone & don't plan on an android phone.

Randy,
I just ordered the RX8 Gen 2 with the 1900 Gen 2 motor for my Losi E-buggy. Do I setup the ESC like I do in my 4x4 SC truck with no fan or do you recommend running a fan on an e-buggy? Also, drag brake or no drag brake? Timing or no timing?

There are some good setups on our website:

http://www.teamtekin.com/hotwire/ESC...up-sheets.html

I'm working on getting all of the Nats setups as well as Drake's and other top guys setups posted shortly.

I often don't run a fan. But being that it's summer it won't hurt anything.

I tried using the link you provided, but it shows nothing but gibberish. Am I doing something wrong on my end? The PDF doesn't show up on that page.

Those aren't pdf files. They're actual profiles you can upload to your esc. Simply save the files in a known location, open up your Hotwire while connected to your esc, go to your "setup" tabe and click "Load profile" find the file you want, click it, apply settings, done.

Randy,

This is my first post and you seem to be the guy that can answer my question.

I have the castle 1515 1Y 2200kv mamba monster combo and I'm looking for a Tekin T8 that has comparable power & torque and I would like to run a lower Kv (1700kv - 1900kv) while putting a bigger pinion gear on to keep the speed I'm running right now. Reason= My bigger pinion gears are aluminum.
Would the 1900kv 1.5Y buggy motor be comparable or do I need to go with a truggy motor.

I already bought the RX8 GEN2 with T8 GEN2 1700kv 2.5D truggy motor and I'm questioning if I'm going to be happy with it. Like to know before I open it.
I would like to stick with wye winding sense they are more efficient, smoother, better linear power, top end & better with timing if I ever use the timing, but the problem is if I have to stick with a truggy motor and want to keep the wye winding I would have to stick with same kv and get the 2250kv 1Y truggy motor...or will I be happy with what I have?

I'm running this in my EB48 and have good reason for wanting all the power & torque. I have my own track and I'm big on tricks. I'll put up a pic and video link in a bit.

Thanks to anyone that can help!
