Tried the current limiter from one end to the other end of the spectrum. Gear mesh is good and drivetrain rolls smooth. Any ideas?
Gearing?

Any time something comes un-soldered, I replace the wire and connector completely. It could be oxidation, poor contacts, or an impurity.

Running a hpi blitz ese and got a rx8 gen 2 and pro 2 5100kv on the way. Running a JRZ9100s servo. It might be a dumb question but I never had a problem with the servo on a RS pro only a slight lose in motor power during turns and all the leds would flash random and in no order when powered. I'm assuming the rx8 gen 2 shouldn't have a issue. Also is there a sensored only or timing boost mode? How is the interface differ from the RS pro?

sorry this may seem like a stupid question, but i thought it may be worth asking...

is there any replacement/service scheme for an out of warranty rx8 gen1 which went up in flames? (The cause is still not known) or do i have to just chuck it in the bin?

Shouldn't be an issue with that servo at all unless it was caused by the servo/radio combination.

The Rx8 is defaulted and will only run D2 Dual mode. Trust me you won't need more power with the Pro2.

You can send in and trade up for the Rx8 Gen2 with a discount for doing so..even a failure such as yours.

Randy,

Upon doing so do you receive the 120 day warranty on the replacement?

I know I'm not Randy, but yes you would have a new 120 day warranty on the Esc, so keep any paperwork that I comes back with it as proof.

I've been running the previous generation combo for years, finally I've purchased the new Rx8gen2/T8gen2 1900kv combo
I just want to ask if there's anything I should know about the new combo or if I can start with the same gearing/settings I was running before. Are there some tips for using the new datalog function?
Any help will be much appreciated!

Start with your old settings and you can tune from there.

Data Log. Just start playing with it. Like it has been stated a few times in this thread you can clear the log right before you run. Determine what you want to look at for the log. The more things you have turned one the less time you can log. Same goes for resolution. Play with it and get a feel for it all. It is up to you to get use out of it depending on what you are looking for. Temps and RPM are what I look at most. the other info can be useful depending on what you are trying to figure out.

Hideeho
I have a couple of suggestions for some things to add to the datalog in the future.

1. The ability to copy & superimpose one section over another.
2. The ability to superimpose (& synchronize) one run over another.

now for the stretch goals

3. Have the datalog talk to the mylaps & mark laps on the log.
4. Have the datalog talk to the steering servo & log its possition.

I figure the 1st 2 aren't THAT difficult, because they should be back end stuff in the hot wire, not in the ESC. The last 2 would probably be more for the gen3, I assume.

What I am wanting to do is be able to compare one lap or run directly with another. This would help greatly in finding which line is faster through a given corner with out have to rely on hitting every corner exactly the same every time. You could even compare multiple lines through multiple corners on the same lap.
