That auction I won just came in today
http://www.ebay.com/itm/SC10-TIRES-W...vip=true&rt=nc

Some are hex drive, which bolt up fine to my sc10rs, alot are the older pin and bearing type. I take responsibility in knowing that. I have the mindset that I will just unglue alot of the tires and throw them on hex wheels.

But in the mean time For the pin type wheels, I think I can just pull the hex adapter off the rear and stick them on correct?

You have to swap the front axle/steering arm to the old FT bearing style stuff, and add washers to the rear (or the old FT spacer) and it will work just fine. I have a set of axles/steering arm/carrier all assembled and just swap the entire assy at the arm. makes it super easy to swap back and forth between hex/pin bearing.

Or maybe you can just remove the hex...im not sure about that, never tried lol.

Good idea. I mounted a set of the rear pin wheels on without the hex, seems good. One side has some slop in it, which I assume I need to put a spacer in behind the pin. I upgraded to associated cva a few weeks ago.

Getting the parts for the front ball bearing setup sounds good, cheaper and less risky than trying to unglue tires and buying new rims.

Check out the SC10 4x4 thread but also check out the Hobbywing SC combo for it if you are looking for something on the cheap. If you want the best, get a Viper VTX8 and hold off until September for their new 4 pole 540's.

Today I went out up the dirt paths by me to try out some jumps, upon 2nd jump, I broke a ball end on the right side (the ball joint on the chassis brace).. I dont know if I can extract the piece that broke off in it. Any worthy upgrades for ball ends? Should I replace the brace as well? Or just get all new original parts?

Did you snap off the metal piece or break the plastic piece? If you snapped off the metal piece you are probably doing something that the truck wasn't designed for. If you snapped the plastic piece....that's pretty common on these things. Try some RPM rod ends. They are tougher than the originals.

Snapped the threaded piece that goes into the brace. I tried to CA glue what was left of the threads into the plastic but that didn't hold up of course. lol

Just get the titanium turn buckles, and use rpm ball cups, won't happen again

You are pretty much looking at replacing the U brace and the ball stud. You could get a longer stud so that if you break one off again you can grab the threaded section sticking through the bottom and twist it out with a plyers. Or you could use a thin cut off wheel on a dremel tool to cut a slot into the threaded end of the ball stud before you screw it into the U brace. Then if you break it off you can stick a small standard tip screw driver into the bottom of the U brace and twist the broken piece out. Don't land your jump like that again.

He broke the ball stud, not the turnbuckle or the ball cup.

So, I am new at this and I just bought an AE SC10. I am putting together my rc toolbox and was wondering what might be some must haves, or spare parts and stuff that would be good to have on hand? Thanks.

Welcome to the fold! Here is a list of things that might be useful. I'm not going to say that you need to have them...they are nice to have. The truck is pretty decent for racing right out of the box, especially if you are just starting.

Factory Team hex driver set - kinda stupid-expensive but it's got all the tips you will need and you can stick the tips into a power screw driver too - ASC1655
RPM ball cups - much tougher than the stock units, this is as close to a must have as you can get - RPM73372
A spare set of front arms - they are different if you have a 10.2 vs. prior models..make sure you get the right ones.
Different shock oils for tuning

This list could go on forever. If you are really just getting into the hobby and would like some advice feel free to PM me and I can get you a more in depth list of tools and such.
