Sweet I've been patiently waiting for my saddle packs. Good thing I just started building my B44.2 today.

Wanted someone to follow up on this portion of the post. I've read the other threads on here about lipo break in. Nothing from the SMC guys though, my new 2s 6500/70c should be here today, wanting to know if there is a proper process to take.

I've heard run it for a few minutes to about 8v and balance charge. Do that a few times.
You can get even more exact and cycle it on your charger.

I've never really done it that structured but I run about 4 to 5 min and throw it on charge.

Ran my 4600 Shorty for the first time today. I did two six minute runs with 6.5T motor in 2wd buggy and still had over 7.7 volts left in the pack. I wasn't going easy either. I was getting ESC temps in the 150's and motor temps in the 130's (Fahrenheit). I had to take another 500 mAh out of it just to get to maximum recommended storage voltage(3.8 V per cell)!

Impressive to me.

I'd have to say I'm getting more run time out of this than I used to get out of my Protek 5200 stick pack. Your Diligence has paid off for me, Danny.

something is wrong if you can barely make time with the 4600, unless your track his huge with a very long straight. I run 3800's and can make over 10 mins with a 8.5. With my 4600 smc shorty I can go almost 15 mins and still dont hit cutoff.

figured it out at the track today I tried another shorty pack and it did the same thing.

I guess one of the bullet connectors coming off my esc was bad somehow.

Do the Shorty 4600mAh 70C batteries come with the pin connectors for my speed control? I am thinking about the Novak Ballistic SC 13.5 and I want to try out a shorty battery

I could be wrong, but I don't think the shorties are recommended for SC classes.

BTW: Shorties only come with 4mm inboard connectors, but an adapter could work.

^you should not leave a pack fully charged for that long. they should be in storage charge and I think that is 3.8 per cell? someone correct me if I am wrong

Your better to leave them discharged or put them on storage charge mode after you finish racing then just recharge before you go to the track, it won't do your batteries any good sitting around charged .....

I think I sold some batteries for smc this weekend I let a guy at the track try them out in his tekno and he loved them and the ability to charge at a high rate. Took 2nd this weekend in SCT with my 6500 race spec

Hey guys, i just finished building a sct410 with hobbywing sct pro and 4700 and need to put in some good strong batteries. I see lots of guys running these smc 's so I went to the site and see the race formula 7200 are pre-order , are they out of stock or are they made per order? if out of stock, any idea when there will be more?

Just ordered (pre/back) a 2S Race Spec 6500mah...what's the ETA on these?

Also I ordered a motor too, will they ship separately? i.e. will the motor ship soon and not wait for the Lipo?
