Best to power up since someone that gives a suggestion may have theirs upside down

Thanks guys! I ended up reversing the throttle servo and calibrating the radio w the esc and I'm good to go. The calibration part amazes me, b/c they don't say a word about it anywhere on the Tekin or Futaba manuals.
I think I'm answering my own question, but figured i'd ask the experts. I left the neutral at the factory setting of 25. should i lower that down to 10-15 like some people were talking about? i had to trim out my throttle a fair amount to keep the power down when it was in neutral. I'm assuming changing this setting w the hotwire eliminates the need to trim?
Finally, can anyone help me w the firmware updates? I don't see a link on the Tekin pafe for firmware, only for the hotwire software.

Any trim in your radio having to do with throttle or brake should be at zero and stay at zero for an electric car. Trim, sub trim, hot button/dial, everything at zero... I guess hot button is 100. You can set your brake hot button at 80 or whatever you wish to assist driving once the calibration has been done correctly.
Re calibrate now that your trims are correct.
From what I can see there is only one version of firmware for this ESC as its brand new but if you want to be sure go to the hotwwire page and download the program again.. that's the firmware. That is the newest firmware for all Tekin esc's.

Once you update the ESC you will need to reset your ESC settings again as it will be wiped out and re calibrate again.
You can save your program to your CPU if you want and reload it after your update.

25 is too much for NW, try 10. All that is is the slop between throttle & brake. That's way to much IMO.

Recalibrating did the wonders. I'm connecting it to the hotwire now to drop the neutral down to 10.

Anyone (maybe one of the Tekin guys) know if there's any chance of an apple or android based app coming anything in the near future to replace hotwire or work with it?
I'm real close to pulling the trigger on a netbook or something like that and would hate to drop $200+ on something that will be uneccessary in a few months. Esp when I could use that cash to get a few new motors

Nope. Apple doesn't like to share. Android... maybe. I suspect we will see a dedicated program box soon though.

Ahhh gotta put two and two together >_<! I was wondering why you have the new integrated fan power + program signal port....
Randy question I just got my gen2 wired up and with the radio off I power on the rx8 and there are no lights. I know its on because I can see power on my transponder. The rx8 only comes "alive" when I turn on the remote and I get the power on lights and beep like the ole gen1. This behavior is different from the gen1 rx8, so is this normal?

Just installed the Gen2 to my Pro4 4600 motor and took it for a spin. I used to pair it with a Mamba MAX Pro and had a lot of problems. Now it goes to darn fast. I have a 14t pinion it it right now. With the Castle set up I last had a 16t pinion and it was tame and cool. I ran around 5 to 6 minutes till something broke. One of the battery leads broke and so I checked temps. The motor was hot to touch and the speed controller was on the warm side. Nothing was measured but I think my motor went into the 190 range by the feel of the touch. I'm impressed at the difference!
