I thought the nova c6 sucked, had weird hanging idle issues if you got the low end just an hour or 2 lean. Put an OD 97T in and all fixed.

we we had an excellent night at the track..... We finally got some good video of the Clocked Roma.... Nick Moxley behind the wheel cutting some amazing laps....The Serpent Truggy was dialed right in and running like a beast.... The Roma is geared up 1 tooth, and is hitting 42 000 RPM down the straight ......

Hi Mayor. How is it going? Still racing in Kansas City? Are you going to Dirt Burners for Futaba/OS Challenge?
I did the same as you. Bought a whole pile of O'Donnell plugs when they went on sale. Just can't have Neal (Clockwork Racing Guru) see them. I've been racing with Clockwork guys for last 2 weeks at their track up in Canada. Kept them hidden in the motorhome. He would probably take them off me and replace them with Nova's. Maybe I should let him see them! LOL!!!!

Hey Bill, since Steve's track is shut down at the moment.

We are all racing up at Fastlane. Chuck has built a pretty nice outdoor track there where the onroad track used to be.
Maybe on the St. Louis race. Not sure yet.
I don't care if this Neal guy likes OD plugs or not. lol. They work and that is all I care about.

Recently purchased a Clocked & Run in Novarossi Bonito & Novarossi 28-7T.
Both fitted in my Kyosho ST-RR EVO's as I have 2, have to say I'm really impressed with them both but the Novarossi 28-7T is an absolute animal.
I love it, was a bit too much on our local track but still lots of fun.
After receiving them from Neal I ran 7 tanks thru them both just to finish off the break in before I gave them a decent tune.
The Bonito is fine but had a problem today with the Novarossi 28-7T, heated it up with the engine heater as always and fired her up.
Ran a tank thru her before really opening it up but then heard a strange noise, could tell something was wrong as I was able to spin the flywheel with my finger.
Took it home and stripped it down & I'm gutted to see that the rod has bent & snapped
I heated up the engine before use every time & always put a few drops of after run oil in it if I wasn't going to be using the engine for a week or so.
The highest temp I had seen was 241F so Im completely baffled why this happened & truly gutted as this engine was my favourite.
Can I just replace the piston/rod or will I need a completely new engine???

well based off the pictures you spun your rod bushing..this is caused from a breakdown of the lubrication between the crank pin and the rod bushing...what brand of fuel do you run ?

the damage to your engine is 100% caused from a breakdown of lubrication between the crankpin and the rod bushing...... The forces of friction between between the rod bushing and the crankpin were so great it tore the bushing out of the bottom of the rod.....There can only be that level of friction if there is a lack of lubrication...either from running too lean, over revving the engine, or a breakdown of the fuels lubrication......
either way the damage is not too bad and we can easilly have her fixxed up for you without breaking the bank...
