The norm is to cut them down to the 2nd line from the bottom.

I glued up some new tires last night. AKA Handlebars. After gluing the rubber seems as if its almost too big for the wheel. The beed sits perfectly but the center tread has dimples all the way around it. I thought it was just the foam getting smooshed down from the rubber bands but after letting it sit overnight now they are still dimpled. I have glued 100's of tires and never had this problem. Not sure what went wrong other than thinking it might be a tire defect? Any ideas?

Did you vent tire and wheel if using inserts?

No I didn't. I usually don't but I always use JC Mono wheels and they have vent holes already. Yesterday I picked up the Proline wheels and now I wonder are they vented?

Build to kit spec. Grab some RPM ballcups and you should be good to go. Use 1 long shank and 1 short shank through out. Get some green slime for the shocks.

I had a Turbo D16z6 in a cx hatch once upon a time.

I'm also very interested in some build-tips for the kit; i'll get my new B4.1 WC next week with Savöx 1251, Speedpassion Reventon pro and Speedpassion Competition Pro 8.5T

Not sure on PL wheels. I run the Avids. When I run any molded inserts I vent the tire as well to help water get out and to keep air from getting trapped on top of the insert.

I wonder if you are seeing some vacuum effect from the tire bands pressing on the tire and foam?

Yes I'm sure I am. And I assume the PL wheels are not vented. I'll check it when I get home.

Proline wheels do not have holes already drilled out. You have to ream the holes out yourself.

As another member said you need to vent the tire as well, a leather punch (the kind with the punches on a wheel) works excellent.

Since you already mounted them, cut a little hole with some scissors. If there are no holes, then you are riding on balloons, which will make the tread wear out quicker.

P.S. don't leave your tire bands on overnight!!
