Hey guys just wanted to say I just started racing my buggy bone stock and have to say this thing is insane. Very easy to drive my first 2 races qualified for the a main against some very good racers and finished top three in the double mains.I have never raced 1/8 scale before and all I can say is why did I wait so long . Thanks Tekno for such a great product and superb customer service.

John

For the guys with drive train noise issues. This week at the track I had another Tekno driver comment on how quiet my buggy was. Here is the trick - make sure the motor is straight when you cinch down the upper screw. I hold the motor straight when tightening this screw, if you don't, the motor will twist in the mount, and gear noise becomes an issue.

As or the front shaft - mine wobbled a little, but no big deal. If you run without the center brace, you run the risk of bending the shaft. I always run the center brace. I have the aluminum shaft now, and it is perfect.

If your buggy is loose on power, and you have been chasing setup you must get the new rear toe block. It made a huge difference for me set to 4° toe in.

Ok ordered the +1.5 block and +1,2 wheel hexes, I put on the David joor setup and I hope the rear block locks in the rear, practice didn't go so well my plastic servo horn gave out finally, it did last a few races at least haha

For a while I just put the Kyosho Orange on the rear and it was great, the light blue kyosho fronts are similar to the tekno yellow fronts that come on the kit.
I didnt like stiff springs in the front or rear. I went this route back when i first started running the car but about 3 months ago, i went the other way. I now run soft springs and heavier sway bars. It has been by far the best for me for the tracks i have run on.

I 2nd the soft setup on this car. Never understood the stiff setups. You guys running that type of setup must have huge tracks with big jumps.

I think im going to need to pick up the tekno sct. I keep looking at it. I should be replacing my e buggy but it is still in perfect shape. To keep me from getting in trouble with the wife, im just going to blame it on Danny for making pimp rides.

It really depends on your track. I'm running the light blue/orange springs plus 2.8/2.6 sway bars right now. We have some really fast sweepers and some off camber stuff on a sugared track. I'm running bald M2 Blockades. I tried running a new set of Medium Enduros and the car traction rolled all over the place. I still have a 3.0 sway bar in my box that I've been wanting to try. When the track was dry and dusty I had Tekno green/pink and stock sway bars on the car.

Anyone have a line on the Kyosho Orange springs? I have had them on backorder at Amain for at least a month if not longer. Seem to be out everywhere still.

I know I could go with some other springs but my body has a orange and blue theme and I already have the Lt. Blue springs ready to go on.

Edit: Amain just got them in stock, finally! They still have someone if anyone is looking.

Yea they redid the indoor track today also I guess, killing me had all my stuff packed up ready to get in the car and figured I better call first...Glad I did.

i just noticed that my backorder from amain came in. i didn't get an email, but when i was on the amain site it showed that it was available.

so now my buggy will have a matching set of magic pixie dust springs.

Yeah, our local track is medium bite on a good day. Most of the time we have low bite. The track is hard packed but dusty surface with fast sections but not enough traction to roll you over. Jumps are large in spots but all have landing jumps so bottoming out is never a problem. I tune my car for the bumps, ruts and corners. This is what gave me good traction and made the car oh so easy to drive.

David Joor setup? Is he running a Tekno buggy? I thought he ran for AE or something.

This pretty much explains my same situation. Cali setups are pretty much useless down here as we never see that amount of traction. They have clay, we got dirt. 2 different worlds.
