Ok, is it just me or does that design on the arms allow the front end of the chassis to bite a lot easier into the jumps!!? Cause it seems like the arms allow the front end to have less clearance!

To me, I had to stiffen up the front (spring wise) a bit after going to the gulwing arms. It stands the shock up more and makes it more responsive.

OK, my truck was set up well for the other track, not for the one I raced on tonight. I bottomed out a bit too much. >.<

Alright just finished it up, used original mount, slight trimming and drilling, didn't want to hack up the mount too much.

Original setup

SC10.2 /SC10b spec

Haven't drove it yet, I don't think bashing is a good way to determine it compared to going to the track. I found out there are like 3 tracks about 30 minutes away from me. But I'm waiting on my lipo packs to come in overseas, and still looking for some springs.

I fixed my esc switch.. I cut down the plastic switch with a dremel cut off wheel to expose the contacts, and resoldered the wire. Shaved down alot of the plastic so than I could slide some shrink wrap over it. Looks like a factory job (at least i remember my old school esc switches being factory shrunk wrapped).

I had to re-calibrate the esc, it wasn't going full power.
After that, played a little bit on the 3800 nimh. Power sliding is soo fun!

I can't wait til my lipo packs come in, and I hit up the tracks.

Man, now I want to get a pair of GullWing arms, new tower, etc!

Btw, it has probably already been mentioned, but today at the track I discovered just how bad the oem slipper pad sucks on my RTR RS (the hard plastic white one). My motor was getting crazy hot and I deduced it to the slipper. Long story short, I bought a set of the High Torque pads and wow, night & day difference. The truck had that extra zip that I was longing for.

Glad to hear it. I'll be sure to check all my clutches for the right pads.

Had a weird problem with my RS yesterday. I was at LCRC (big 1/8 scale outdoor track) and made it through the first two rounds awesome. Third round, all I changed was tires but somehow about three laps in the truck just stopped moving. I walked off the stand and went down to pick it up and I could hear the motor spinning but wheels weren't turning so I thought crap, pinion gear came loose.... wrong. I don't know how but somehow the pinion gear melted all the teeth off the spur gear!!! Motor wasn't hot (it was only 3 laps in), the gear mesh was just fine and motor wasn't loose, I am at a loss for what caused it.

Threw on a new spur gear, re-set gear mesh and went out for the main (and lapped 2nd place) and it ran just fine. Any ideas guys??

+1 made almost too much of a difference for me. Now I have to figure out how to get more traction in my turn...

Sounds like sand or clay got in the spur/pinion gears, this causes the spur to shave off!!

New body

If anyone has the original rear bumper with mud flaps, I would be interested. Mine came with them trimmed off. but i think they look cool as hell.

Shaved off isn't the word.... it melted off!!! Almost like there was something binding in the drivetrain somewhere. Whats weird is that I didn't do anything else to it besides replace the spur gear and reset the mesh and it has been fine ever since.
