Well if dirt/ dust gets in between the two and causees the plastic to get damaged, then makes it weak and then of course melts it off, it will clean the spur gear flat and shiny where the teeth are supposed to be!!

Now i take it with a gain of salt as they where probably supplied with those parts for free publicity. but what is everyone's take on those motor plates? I see a few grooved plates here and there. Are they worth it?

IMO those vents will just allow dirt and dust to get in, u may as well run without the gear cover!!!

Im no engineer, but it seems like dust/debris would find its way in and wreck your session sooner than later.

I doubt I'll make a race without cooking a spur gear due to debris!!

lol i see what you guys are saying.

But the bellcrank and slipper clutch i can see being worth it.

But what about the other motor plates out there? think they function or are mostly for looks? http://www.ebay.com/itm/Hot-Racing-A...item3f265c3a39

The bellcrank is bloody excellent.. Don't think twice, just buy it. So cheap for the performance gain.

RC Car Action wouldn't likely tarnish their reputation for $50-60 worth of parts.

Nope!

I've been running the motor plate for months, no issues, same spur I've had since I put the Triad in when I built the truck. I primarily race it on a dusty, blown out ass bumpy 1/8th scale track. No issues.

The vents angle AWAY from the spur gear, dirt would have to travl UP some how. I haven't had any problems with it, I'm not sure what you'd have to do to get dirt in there, but I haven't yet.

Don't get the Integy, their materials are a joke and leave a lot to be desired. Get the Avid or the AE piece, you won't be unhappy.

No. Integy parts are known for being weak, wanky crap.

How do you like the triad setup so far? what motor/esc are you running with it? I'm running the stock RTR RS 3300kv for now but plan on going to 10.5 soon. How would the triad work for the stock setup in the meantime?

I beg to differ I run the rear shock tower, the c-hubs and the steering from integy, and had nothing but good luck, and no bends and I put it thru hell hahaha I replaced all the parts that broke when I first got it with integy alum and it hasn't broke/bent yet!!

Every single piece i've used from Avid has been top notch! I love their products more than anyone else's. They don't rape you on the price, even though the quality of parts they provide are much better than similar items costing twice as much. I would buy anything Avid makes with confidence!!

I ran it with a Tekin RSPro/6.5 setup and now am running it with an RSPro/Reedy Sonic Mach2 7.5 setup.

I love it, it's got almost no fade and it's very easy to drive, very reliable.

I am running it in my X-Factory SCX-60cf (mid motor conversion for the SC10), and I put on the red disc that they just put out for the outer disc and love it. Literatly 0 fade throughout an 8 minute main
