SMC LIPO BATTERY THREAD

I had no choice to do this change and it will be for the better. In 7 years dealing with our supplier who does the 70C packs I never once got fake connectors. Also when I place an order it gets done within a reasonable amount of time except for 2 months when China goes all wacky due to Chinese New Year vacation. Seems like for these 2 months everything in China is messed up.
In the end we will only stock one 6500 model and it will be a better pack. The 3S price will stay the same. The 2S and 4S will go up 5 dollars but these are both ROAR legal.
Thanks for understanding and I'm begging our supplier for some 3S packs. Hope they can get me some sooner than later.

Just wondering if you've heard anything on a ETA for the new 70C 3s. Thanks!

Danny, I need your expertise.
I just charged one of my 6500/60C batteries I got from you.
The charger kicked off, says charge is complete.
The mAh read 2875??
The charger is a Onyx 235
Is there something wrong?

btw, that is the amount of mAh you put into the pack, not the capacity.

Are you going to run them soon ? You shouldn't fully charge your packs and leave them sitting fully charged for long periods of time. If you plan on using it tomorrow or the next day this shouldn't be an issue.

I always balance each charge but it takes like a hour for about 1500 mah after a race and seems like the amps on the charge drop way down. Would the amps stay up if it wasent being balenced. Also charger only will go to 6 or 7 amps.

Does your charger show you the voltage of each cell ? If so you need to check the voltage of each cell to see if they are the same. If they are out of balance it will take a long time to finish the charge.
It's normal for the amps to go down once the pack voltage reaches 4.2v per cell. This is called Constant Voltage. Lipos are charged at Constant Current until 4.2v per cell is reached then it switches to Constant voltage where it holds the voltage until the amps reach around 3% of what you set it at. If you charge at 10 amps the charger will stop once the voltage stays constant and the amps reach 3% of 10 amps which is 0.30amps.
