Can you help define "why" for the use of the 25 degree outside?

Thanks,

yeah, there is always one part of the track that costs me. right now its a corner jump with an evil protruding pipe. so if you do it wrong, you will snap off an arm. so, I dont jump the corner and it costs me about 1 second per lap.

Snapped some pics of the used B4.2 I picked up, it is like new, I am still deciding on what esc and motor setup to go with, I will be running 17.5t Stock. I am looking at the Speed Passion Revetron Stock Club http://www.amainhobbies.com/product_...ed-Timing-175R or buying the Revetron (R or Pro) and picking up a 17.5t Motor (Speed Passion, Reedy, Orion, etc) I am open to suggestions, any help is appreciated.

Speaking of snapping things....1/2 a battery pack in on my brand new buggy and snapped a ball cup.... the local fast guy decided to grab a 2wd buggy this year, and picked up the B4.2.....he snapped a ball cup just threading it onto the turnbuckle!

For anyone who missed it, or anyone who is putting their stuff together and didn't believe all the comments about replacing the ball cups with better ones.....JUST DO IT!!! Don't wait for them to break, because from our experience around here, they WILL break on your first time out!

I am going to assume you are running 17.5 Blinky. If that is the case, if you decide to stick with the Speed Passion line of motors you are going to want those that allow timing adjustment via sensor board changes like the V3.0 series or better.

That is the one area that the Speed Passion motors are a tad behind as far as ease of adjustability goes for timing. Other motors you turn the can so to speak. On Speed Passion motors, you need different sensor boards for 10 degree increments.

Stock, the V3.0 motor can do 0 to 10 degrees. The V3.0 MMM can do 10 - 20 degrees and as it comes with the red board. Having a 17.5 MMM, I use the green board in it so I can do between 20 and 30 degrees based on my understanding

Boards are abut $20 a board, so keep that in mind. Also, they don't offer the motor in a high torque rotor version so if that is useful at your track, its added cost versus another motor that you can buy it with out of the box.

That said, I am happy with the motor I built on the MMM base with the high torque rotor and the timing boards I have available.

Got to do some clay running recently, was fun. Track was hard packed clay that was bumpy as well, indoors. They even ran 1/8 electric buggy and truggy on the surface.

Looks great! I have a Tekin RS Pro in mine! Love it but depending if your track runs blinky or not may be overkill.

Thanks Cain and Cman, I am 99% sure its a blinky class, but TRCR is new to me so I am not 100%. I have contacted some if the guys that run there to get more information on the stock rules. I might look at a different motor to keep it simple for now, I have heard the SP esc's are a great value, I was looking at the LRP Flow, just seems overpriced, but they are nice.

No prob. SP's ESCs do offer good bang for the buck as well as Hobbywings offerings too. That doesn't anything away from other brands mind you.

For me personally, I pretty much run the SP GT2.0 Pro's in all my vehicles where applicable as they are cheap and can even handle 4x4 SCT usage on 2S in my Tekno SCT410.

How do you set blinky on a Tekin ESC?

The more caster you run the smoother the steering and youll also gain more self-centering steering. Caster will mellow out the car. It will also give you more camber gain as you turn the wheel further.

As I understand

More caster will make more steering in most cases...

30 steer's less going into the turn , but steer's more in middle & exit

25 steers more going into the turn , steer's less in middle & exit
