Yea, that's rediculous. We need to find a landlord that is a bit hungrier or more understanding to our position.

I was told $1000/month and we pay utilities. We give/get 60 day notice

Is there no way to move out this month (to save $2000 for June) if possible?

How much square footage do we need and what kind of rent are we looking for, I will start looking for a place as well.

5000+ sq ft
<$2k per month

Has anyone ever checked into the old out of business stores? Like gander mountain on the west side, old walmarts, etc... They're huge and usually empty for years...

Old stores are a great idea. How many strip malls are around too that have space open for a long time?

Stores like that usually never "own" the property, they rent it. Except Menards, they buy their property. Brokers handle the property and will not lower rent for a club like ours. I have made many inquiries into vacant "big box" properties. The best bet is to find some local landlord with an empty warehouse.

Maybe you guys should just rent storage and pack it up.
I never thought year around indoor was a wise move-especially at $2k/ month.
If this was you're personal $ what would you do?
You guys have some wild ideas but when anyone gets on here with a solution it gets shot down.
I have no idea who is on the board anymore and honestly it is frustrating trying to help.
So good luck on the empty Walmart(as if there is such a thing).

There were no guarantees on the Stoughton rd location anyway.

I'm sorry to say I regret trying to help.

The existing carpet area is 3600 square feet. This does not include the drivers stand, walkways, bathrooms, or pitspace.

Bob H, I think what was trying to be said was that empty businesses are probably owned by a broker so they won't give us a low rent. But in your case if your cousin knows the owner, I think we should at least run it by him.

I think any negativity towards finding a building is from some of us dreaming too big and thinking that an old Kmart might be feasible.

I think Keith Hills let us store our stuff in one of building last summer, so maybe we can save a few hundred there.

It was four years ago that Keith let us store stuff in his shed.

Mini storage would run about 300 a month based on pricing two years ago in middleton. Not sure what it runs near the track this year.
